I never liked Oprah anyways…

But that show puts her on my “Who should be smacked upside the head” list.

I can create a list for this… The more profound list might be the 3 best TV shows… It is harder to come by. 🙂

Most shows are not only offensive, but so stupid that they are unwatchable. Even watching football with my son, here comes an ad for Levitra or Viagra.

The worst ads are the ones for YAZ birth control pills - it’s so hip and cool, even the name is cool. Or the one for the birth control patch with the woman who’s too dumb to remember to take a birth control pill everyday (but apparently can remember to fornicate).

I agree. The guy says really awful things about Catholics and America and there is NO WAY I would ever watch his show again. (I only watched a few segments here and there and that was too much.)

I don’t consider what was posted as “dissing” but merely stating the truth. Maher is very offensive. IMO his show should be avoided by the general populace but especially by Catholics. Why contribute to his livelihood when he is so offensive?

Not only do they push their ABC agenda, but they also defile “Twisted Sister” too. How dare they!
 
I’d agree that Real Time with Bill Maher has to be one of the worst shows ever. If he ever went by the rule “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”, he’d never open his mouth. I’ve only seen it a few times, but can’t remember a good word about anything coming out of his mouth. And with as much bashing of catholics and this great country that he does…nuff said.

After that, I’d have to go with:
Dirty Sexy Money, Sex & the City, 2 1/2 men, Desp. Housewives

All these shows do is glamorize the two things that the devil has the strongest hold on people with(lust & greed).

Could you give us a short overview of these shows? I mean, i have only caught a 1/2 min. here 1/2 min there of 2 1/2 men… don’t know anything about the other shows you mention… (probably don’t want to, really…) Just wnat to know what i am “missing”… :rolleyes:

i just watched my last Oprah show(Was almost the 1st, too, actually…) the show about sex… Not one word voiced against fornication… porn, open marriage (What is marriage if it is open? Why bother?..Why not just fornicate?) No word even about STDs… .
Very irresponsible…

the devil has come down hard on the world because he knows he has such a short time…
 
I have never even heard of most of these shows. My picks for the worse three: Jerry Springer, Maury Povich, and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Um, Bill O’Reilly. He’s a moral midget with no journalistic integrity (why should he have, he isn’t a journalist).

I’d love to lock him & Keith O in a room together for a month or so & then check to see if eother one was still alive.

I think I’ve heard of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy before. If memory serves me right, it was another one of those makeover shows only with gay guys acting as the hosts and giving fashion advice and stuff to straight guys.

I haven’t watched it much but I’m not really sure it’s 100% as horrible as you both imply. Maybe 80% or 85%. 🤷

British TV isn’t much better 😦

Eastenders - this is a soap about the east end of London and is the most depressing programme imaginable! But people love it here - they seem to be addicted to who’s going to cheat on who next, who killed so and so etc etc. It’s the office gossip all week.

All of our soaps have gone down hill. We used to have good ones but now Coronation Street, Emmerdale, The Bill have all gone the same way as Eastenders.

The Peep Show - I’ve never actually watched this but I used to be forced to listen to it in the staff room at lunch times (whilst trying to read my book). It’s one of those weird alternative comedies. It’s all back stabbing and the characters say one thing to a person’s face but then your hear their real thoughts which are nearly always horrible. It’s just weird.

There are some nice shows though - Strictly Come Dancing is great with Bruce Forsyth!

The BBC have also made an effort to do period dramas such as Cranford (Judi Dench, Eileen Aitkins) From Larkrise to Candleford, Wives and Daughters, North and South. They do know how to make a good period drama 😃

sigh love a good period drama or book adaptation. There have been one or two exceptions of late though …

… Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park with BILLIE PIPER as Fanny? :eek: …

It is a truth universally acknowledged that it was enough to make one almost choke in a most unladylike fashion on one’s tea and scones!
