Dexter: A serial killer who works in forensics at a police station. He kills people not after knocking them out but while they are still alive. One guy he killed with a chainsaw. His sister is a cop, and worked undercover with some prostitutes, one of which said, “What’s wrong with bein a ****** whore?” Sure, what’s wrong with anything? Both he and his sister engaged in non-marital sex acts. The police as role models? Not on this show.

Grey’s Anatomy: Everyone fornicates, except for one odd character who is married, and had a baby, with her husband. She sticks out like a light in the darkness. The lead character picks up men she doesn’t know at bars and has sex with them. When things are bad, she goes to the bar and drinks tequila. One of her attractive coworkers remarked: “So I’m a dirty whore. So what?” Doctors as role models? Not on this show,

Two and a Half Men: Fornication and alcohol. The lead character’s mom is also one of the fornicators. A young boy is exposed to the immorality. No role models in sight.

Family Guy: As the opening theme song lets everyone know “those values on which we used to rely” are spit on with this show. The baby is literally a monster and a pervert, with the rest of the “family” putting the dys in dysfunctional with sexual situations finishing off the immoral mix.

Jerry Springer: Perversion and dysfunction on parade. At the end of each program, Jerry passes along a few words of totally appropriate “wisdom” about how people should treat each other, too bad his show is the exact opposite.

Californication: David Duchovny of the X-Files plays a serial fornicator. 'Nuff said.

God bless,
Ed
thanks for the info… I think… :ouch:

makes me want even more to throw that %$#@* TV out on the street…

except that someone might pick it up and use it… :banghead: :dts:

I don’t watch TV anymore. There’s never anything good on, and even if there was I just can’t sit before a screen and not press buttons.

gamer for life, yo.

considering all those horrible-sounding shows another Poster listed…

You are right to be addicted to channel surfing…

Only thing is… the surfing seems to always lead one to… accidental drowning…

I used to love watching Jerry Springer when I was 10 years old. It was so pathetic it was great (if that is even possible)
So now we know the “target audience”…

As if we didn’t know already…

I like “Family Guy” for some odd reason. I know how bad it is…I still like it…Ducks flying rocks
isn’t family Guy supposed to be about a Catholic family?? That is what one friend told me… never watched it…

(once again, God has delivered me from evil 🙂 )

Eww, I meant video games.

Peter’s father is Catholic and hates Lois because she’s Protestant.

Otay… 🙂

Why the “eww”… You wouldn’t be caught dead watching TV?? 😃

i know the feeling…
Channel surfing is worse than actually watching the programs themselves. By buttons, I meant that when I stare at a screen I need to have a keyboard or control pad to control what happens on the screen (which means I only play video games).

oh…

So you’re a control freak?? 😃

One can say, every network except EWTN.🙂 Seriously, I can not even name one sitcom that is on today. I dont even watch network tv and especially at night.

do they have any games that are about stomping the devil and his demons???
Diablo and Diablo 2 come to mind. They were so popular that I think they still sell them at Wal-Mart. It’s not safe for the kids though.

They are both violent games and show a lot of blood and gore. There’s this dungeon in the first chapter of Diablo 2 where the devil’s servants tortured and murdered captive amazon warrior women from this one warrior tribe that had failed an assault on the devil’s monsters, and many of them were possessed and made into undead monsters that attack you. That dungeon is full of their corpses and bodies that were horribly mutilated and stuff. I remember one rack that had a corpse of a warrior woman on it, but her lower half was completely missing.

On second thought, that might be too much. I don’t even play those games anymore, but they were the first ones that came to mind when you asked for a devil stomping game.

those games sound more like where the devil stomps people…

If the games you do play are half this bad… you are doing your soul a disservice playing them… in my humble opinion…

better to spend time with Jesus at the Blessed Sacrament…:console: :hug1:

do you do that?? It is far more “adventurous”/ exciting than any video game or any other “this world” amusement… or activity…

Well the whole point of the Diablo games is to find and kick the devil and his minions out of the world, so naturally things look pretty bleak for good guys everywhere in the beginning of both games. When the first game starts, Diablo pretty much has the world in his grip and you have to find him and banish him, so it’s not like you’re playing a game and simultaneously worshiping the real devil.

Diablo: You’re a lone hero/heroine who sets out to defeat Diablo. According to the story, once Diablo is defeated, two archangels come to bind Diablo in a holy crystal, but the crystal is somehow damaged and the only way Diablo can be held within the crystal is if one of the archangels traps himself within the crystal. Neither can die, so they are locked in eternal combat while trapped in the crystal.

Diablo 2: You’re a different person who investigates the resurgence of demons in the world and learn of someone who is known as The Wanderer. The Wanderer was the hero from Diablo who was tormented by the temptations of the evil and as a result freed Diablo, who then decided to get the other devils, Mephisto and Baal, to help wreak havoc on the world. So you pretty much have to get rid of all three.

The games I currently play are nowhere near as violent or graphic as the Diablo games, though violence is a common element.

i certainly hope they are not as graphic or violent… but i believe ANY violence is bad for the soul… our minds take in everything and stores things better than we think…

this is one reason i absolutely HATE (most) TV… it sends messages… Like that stupid show 2 1/2 “men”… (using the term loosley:rolleyes: )

It sends the message that women are stupid, sleep with a man on the first date… and are generally worthless creatures… it sends the message that fornication is no big deal… Watch that kind of garbage long enough, you will end up with no morals… or not very strong ones…

you seem young… did you say you were 17? (I’ve been all over the forums today, can’t keep track of everyone…). I am not so young so i know a few things you probably don’t… (not bragging, just stating facts)… I know something of how my own mind works because i once foolishly endeavored to figure myself out. :hypno:  the more i learned about myself, the more i felt i didn’t know… so i kind of gave up… but one thing i learned was that i am a product of all that i have been through… and that wasn’t such a good thing… so some re-programming was in order… The Catholic Church ws the answer… (very long stoyr).

Are you Catholic??

Well, i guess i will let you go… God bless…

I am 23 and Roman Catholic (it says so in my profile). I can’t think of any games I’ve played that are nearly as bad as many current or recent TV shows. I’ve been playing video games since I was very young and I have no desire to do anything violent outside of them and I cannot see how it would be possible for anyone to become violent just because of a video game. The games I’ve played that fall in the fantasy genre all promote goodness in favor of evil, no matter how violent they may be.
