So how is everyone handing this “social distancing” time due to the virus?
My favorite actor just tweeted that he and his wife are doing household chores that they never seem to get around to–cleaning the garage, organizing the attic, etc.
One of my daughters bought a “panic guitar” and plans to learn to play it. She said that if the internet goes down (and I have no idea why COVID-19 would make the internet go down), she wouldn’t be able to listen to Spotify while she is sequestered at her apartment! My husband cracked up over this, and told her that she could always listen to her IPOD!
This daughter has also managed to hoard several dozen rolls of toilet paper–I have no idea where she’s hiding them in her apartment that is the size of a closet!
My other daughter went out with co-workers last night for one last Happy Hour before all the bars shut down. Not sure what she plans to do at home–I know that she and her husband went grocery shopping in a major way on Sunday–they go out to eat so much that they had very few actual meal-type groceries in their home! So apparently they are now stocked!
I am rejoicing that I have NO piano gigs (possibly a small church service–less than 20 people) on Sunday, but that church is communicating with their national organization to make a decision as to whether to cancel Sunday worship service–the majority of their members are well over 70 years old.
I’m hoping that my knee holds out because I would love to do some organizing in my basement. But the weather is still cold here, and the basement feels damp and raw to me. So maybe I’ll just vegetate on the sofa and watch World War II documentaries.
I still have to work (hospital lab in microbiology), but I fear that much of our work will consist of COVID-19 send-outs. Our drive-through testing site opens today–ai yi yi! I’m wondering if the line will stretch into Wisconsin!
My husband is working from home, as always. He is virtually untouched by this, used to being alone all day, and used to eating at home for breakfast and lunch and not going out much during the day.
How about you? Any suggestions? Anyone writing the Great American (or other country) novel? Anyone reading the Bible through, or praying extra prayers/Rosary? How are your children doing?
Let’s all hang in there!
