There have always been Arabs in the Holy Land…since before the time of Christ - Christ himself in his humanity is Arab…the language he spoke was Aramaic from which the Arabic language developed.
Jesus witnessed before and after his death and resurrection to the Arab people there who were both Jewish and non-Jewish - many became Christians. About 95% Jews who did not become Christian except about 5% of the Jews who remained in the Holy Land, scattered to various areas - Russia, Europe and Africa after the Temple’s destruction in 70 ad by the Romans.
The people who remained in the Holy Land were the Arab Christians (and some of the Romans until they moved their capitol to Byzantium changing it’s name to Constantinople around the mid to late 300’s).
When in the late 600’s early 700’s Muslims began invading the Holy Land, the Roman Catholic Pope began to disperse European Roman Catholic Soldiers to free the “Christian Arabs” from the Arab Muslims - this, after many crusades which ultimately failed and Christians began to become outnumbered by the Muslims…so Christians converting to Islam and the fact that Islam allows for men to have plural wives.
From the time of the Crusades on, there have been Roman Catholics in the Holy Land via soldiers intermarried with Arab Christians already there.
So prior to the European Jews (& now African and Russian, etc. Jews) coming to the Holy Land in 1947/1948 to establish a new country of Zionist Israel the population make up of Palestine aka the Holy Land was all Arab: Mostly Muslim, about 20 some odd % Christian and about 5% Jewish.
(Side note: It is interesting to note that one of the first people killed by the Zionist Israelis was an Arab Jew who had personally lived in Palestine all his life as had his ancestors back before the time of Jesus.)
To say that Arabs didn’t come until after the Jews is just simply the funniest thing I have ever heard in my life; however, it is also so sad that some people actually believe that without bothering to even look into the history. Very sad indeed.
Misinformation does nothing in way of helping the situation.
(side note: It is very interesting that although the Arab Jews who left the Holy Land in 70 ad have intermixed with the peoples of the places they went to that now, nearly 2,000 years later a person walking down the street would not recognize them as Arab - like for example in Africa, the Jews look just like the other Africans in the area; however, DNA testing of their priests proves they are of the Levitic blood line. There was a whole episode about it a few years ago on the History Channel. Absolutely amazing!)
There was no significant Arab presence in the Holy Land prior to muslim invasions of the 7th century. Now does that mean there were NONE, of course not, but the fact is the Jews have been the major presence, and continiously for 3700 years. That is a historical fact.
Many fled in the face of persecution, but they never totally left it.
In the history of the world there has never been Palestinian “state” that is relative new term born in the 1960s.
Because you use this term often- Zionist- I’d like for you to explain to me, how the Jews hope to expand and conqueor the Mid East.
Israel a land of 6 million people is squared off against the following countries and their populations-
Egypt 80 million
Jordan- 25 million
Syria-22 million
And we won’t even go into Iran’s population 70 miilion, or Saudi Arabia et al. You get the drift. Now how is Israel going to expand and occupy Arab land facing these numbers? They can’t. Zionism is a myth.
This is false. The Jews have been the majority of the population of Jerusalem since the 19th century. You don’t get more Holy Land than that.
So Hamas came into power because 100% of the people voted it into power? Is that what the polls said? Since you know so much about the situation, I’m wondering what your sources tell you about the poll results. Hope you respond to the question.
Now I don’t know the poll numbers and don’t care, all I can tell YOU its a fact Hamas was elected into power. By the will of the people, they have enabled a terroist organization. The Archbishop has not led his people to speak out against this atrocity, so I’m gonna assume the Catholics in Gaza are in agreement with the anti Jewish rhetoric, and as such I, and many other Americans wrote them off. I’m not gonna put up with a terroist and those that enable them of any flavor. And as terroists supporters they’ll have to endure the wrath of the IDF, without my sympathy.
A terroist is a terroist whether he’s Catholic, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist or whatever. I define terroists anyone that targets schools kids, women, just for the heck of it, and Hamas has proven to be quite adept at that.
When the ArchBishop decides to use his power to condemn Hamas, I’ll take a look, but instead all he does is rail against Israel, and utters not one word when a rocket lands in a Jewish schoolyard. He has NO crediblility in my eyes, and most Americans and in fact I’d say he as alot of audacity to seek financial help from Americans who are currently engaged in a world wide war on terrorism.
I’ll be honest, I’m NOT sure where the money would go? To buy more rockets to shoot into schools? Vest for bombers? Who knows when it comes to Hamas and those that follow them.
From the time of the Crusades on, there have been Roman Catholics in the Holy Land via soldiers intermarried with Arab Christians already there.
I don’t care what religion these people profess to be m’am, if they enable terroists, and support their action against innocent people I’m not helping, and the lurkers out here can read this thread and make up their mind if they want to send money to these people or not. Kinda like fair and balanced. If you send money to Gaza to anyone that even *might be *connected Hamas is a bad thing in my book.
Your problem seems to be giving these terroists a pass because they might be Catholics in the mix?
