You say you’re not giving up anything but in fact you are. You are taking your hard earned money and giving it to the poor instead of buying chips and coke and chocolate for yourself… You are giving up your time and praying instead of watching TV or doing some other activity that you like… AND you are giving up sites that cause you to rant and be angry. Those are worthy gifts to give to Jesus! He will bless your effort… I’m praying for you, too!Not giving up anything, but I plan on doubling my weekly contribution to the collections basket and the poor box, as well as continue to pray the rosary daily. Also, staying of this site since all I do is post bitter, angry rants.
That’s great. I’ll be reading the Gospels straight through along with all the footnotes. I got a head start reading the first few Matthew chapters today. I’m hoping to give up toxic political message boards including the world news forum here.My daughter and I will start everyday bible reading. I will receive Great Adventure Bible for children today from Amazon.
That’s cool- I’ve never done it before for Lent but I just thought I would try it as a penance this year! If you have an iPhone the grayscale option is in the Accessibility area under color filters.I never heard of this, but it is a real thing! I changed mine to missing red-green (?) which greatly reduced a lot of the color, and will switch to greyscale in Lent too
(Just putting it on greyscale makes it incredibly difficult to play solitaire, so maybe I will also give up solitaire for Lent)
