We have a winter condo on the beach, just south of Boca Raton and next to Deerfield Beach. It is part of the Hurricane Watch, but at the southern end of it.
I’m thankful that this morning Ihave been able to go with one of our lady members of our SVP to do an SVP visit to see one of our old parishioners who will be 100 next week and can still talk the hind legs off a donkey.
I am thankful He stays with and gives me more courage that I lost almost completely following certain events in my past. But He stays with me and sends me His courage and so I can go on living, leave home, go to work, just keep breathing. I also thank Him for breathing.
For the inspiration to be charitable towards two people whom I know, was not expecting to run into at the hospital, in particular one with whom I’ve clashed with in the past. Thank you God for any good I do as it stems from You.
So much to be thankful for! My father-in-law coming home from the hospital tomorrow. Hurricane Dorian missed our condo. The many organizations helping the people suffering in the Bahamas. My loving wife. The happiness of our grandchildren. The members of our parish.
Thankful that that my father-in-law is coming home from the hospital!
Thankful for the hour of adoration I had yesterday.
Thankful for meeting a new parishioner this morning at mass.
I am thankful for continual renewal in Christ.
I am thankful for my children and their talents.
I am thankful for temptations that bring growth in virtue.
Thankful for work and for all the material possessions we enjoy for a time.
I am thankful to God that I can afford to give something to panhandlers when asked, and that I still have the health and fitness to walk a mile when I have to.
I’m thankful for friends and friendly acquaintances, and for my laptop that lets me socialize online and look up information.
(And games: thank you Lord for letting me play games.)
