I am thankful for having known Frances in the last months of her life , and for the beauty of the words of the funeral service I have just attended .

Right now, thinking about how thankful I am that I have employment and a source of income.

Thankful that I have been able to maintain it over the last few years in the face of some problems I’ve had that I’ve posted about.

That I opened my eyes to another day and not to my particular judgment, which means I’ve been given this day to do good, to make reparation for my sins and to hopefully bring glory to God.

I’m just off to the Sacrament of Reconciliation .

And don’t I need it !!!

Thanks be to God and my Guardian Angel! I’m thankful for my Guardian Angel who somehow moved my van back into the traffic lane without overcorrecting when I fell asleep (without warning) and veered off of the pavement. He really worked OverTime! I’ll never understand how I got back into that lane. Divine intervention is the only answer.

I’m thankful my wife’s siblings are stepping up to help care for their father.

Oh yes. I am thankful for that, and for the good priests I’ve known in my life.

Right at the moment I’ve thankful to live in a sturdy, safe building. Hurricane Dorian is bearing down on us and I’m confident the worst I might suffer is to be without lights and the internet for a few hours. I praise God for that (and pray for so many others who face worse than that.)

Hm. It’s been near a month. Too late today: I’ll go next week.
Thank you Lord for all the sacraments. And thank you @Rob2 for the reminder.

I’m thankful for College football. 🏈🏈🏈 I just love college football!

Right now I’m watching a very exciting game where “my team” is holding their own.

I said a prayer that players don’t get hurt…

I’m thankful for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I’m thankful the Holy Spirit helped me examine my conscience and help me recognize my sins, and prodded me to go to confession.

I am thankful to live in a safe, free country where the rights of citizens to voice their opinions and practice any religion are respected (New Zealand).

I am thankful that the Lord has called me to be an altar server. I am thankful for my shepherd Cardinal John A. Dew and for our great Holy Father Pope Francis.

I am thankful for my wonderful parish Church with a lovely chapel, organ, and space for many people to come to Mass. I am thankful that our Archdiocese is repairing our treasured cathedral which is an earthquake risk.

I am thankful for my bibles and crucifixes and other religious items.

I am thankful that I come from a privileged family where money has never been a problem unlike so many in our world who struggle.

I am thankful that I managed to attend Mass on a school trip to another city last week. Guess what…unbeknownst to me, the celebrant of the Mass I attended at a parish church on the city I visited was actually the bishop emeritus!

I’m thankful for my grandchildren. Three bundles of love that always bring smiles to my face, give me hugs and kisses, and the beautiful sounds of laughter and joy.

I’m thankful for the feeling of the evening, end of summer sun on my skin, soaking into my bones.

I’m also thankful to actually be thankful and grateful for these things after many years in the spiritual wilderness.

I’m thankful my father-in-law is home from the hospital again!
I’m thankful the Philadelphia Eagles won today!

I am thankful that I am weak and afflicted. When I am at my weakest point, the Spirit has a tiny window of opportunity to speak.

Just being alive. For His patience with me, for His never ending Mercies, for His love and care for me, for all that He has done for me, for all that He has given me both temporally and spiritually, for loving me as I am with all my faults and failings, for all His help each and every day.

I’m thankful that the rain put me off going into town shopping , and I know that’s procrastination , but I was still thankful .
