I was gonna say, “1999 is old?” 😃
I’m speechless.
That must be a first . 😀

Yes, I have. I love it when I can trace a movie back to the original book._

Come to the Stable
Bells of St. Mary’s
Mrs. Minniver
Dr. Zhivago (snow, ice and music)
And how could I forget - The Night of the Hunter!

Me, too.

When I’ve gone back to read a book because of a movie I saw and enjoyed, I almost always thoroughly enjoy the book as well.

The one exception was The Princess Bride. The move was a classic. The book was awful.

The Third Man

Kes

The 39 Steps

The Railway Children

Brief Encounter

Chariots of Fire

Gandhi

The Lady Vanishes

Whistle Down The Wind

84 Charing Cross Road

Love The Third Man. Graham Greene wrote the screen play. Last time I was in Vienna I took
The Third Man tour!

The Lon Chaney Phantom of the Opera. Hunchback of Notre Dame(1939). The 1930 Universal horror films. Spartacus.

And since no one seems to have mentioned it yet.

Citizen Kane.

Yankee Doodle Dandy with Jimmy Cagney. Another one I know all the songs and a chunk of the script for.

GWTW for certain.

The Little Princess with Shirley Temple.

Amadeus

Twilight Zone: The Movie

Rear Window

Anything with Cary Grant or Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly. I love Singing In The Rain and Royal Wedding.

To Kill a Mockingbird for certain.

Pretty much every musical film, especially the Rodgers and Hammersteins, Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story, Singin in the Rain, and Meet Me in St Louis. I also love To Kill a Mockingbird and The Miracle Worker. Plus all of the classical Christmas films, especially It’s a WOnderful Life.

Yup, and I forgot that one, too. Shame on me. One of the best movies ever. The only picture Charles Laughton ever directed, I think?

Oh, and when I just want two hours of silly fun, have a brew or two, a laugh or three, and not overwork the brain cells ….
Smokey and the Bandit.

Parent Trap - Hayley Mills
Pollyanna - Hayley Mills

Pup, forgive me - how could I forget the movie that makes me cry at the ending?
