Thank you. Furthermore, if we ever intend to become saints, then being continually conformed to the image of God is the only option. Changing or not changing, in this case, makes an eternity of difference, and we desperately need leaders to encourage and instruct us in this. I fear for those who believe they are “good enough” and see no need to grow.Where does someone get off telling people they are Fadda Corapi ‘groupies?’
And as for me, even though I do attend Mass, go to Confession, pray the Rosary every day—I am still WEAK.
That’s why I need (and appreciate!) the constant reminders to stay on the straight and narrow: in other words, someone telling me to CHANGE.
Why has God given us so many holy men and women to look to through the ages? Is it so we can say, “see, they were only human, and they also had sin?” What profit is there in shining the light on their failings? Or is the benefit instead in seeing how much they overcame, in taking courage and strength from their message, and emulating their pious behavior? You’ll notice when we remember the Saints on their feast days, we don’t spend a lot of time talking about their faults. Why? Because that would be missing the point entirely.
