I had to read all the threads of this message before I decided to chime in. The scripture that came to mind is Matthew 7:1-5 because I’m usually so quick to judge. I started to think of the old me. Yep, I am a revert. Father Corapi’s talks were just what I needed to come back to the faith. I don’t have the opportunity to watch him but I do listen to him 5 days a week. He challenges my thinking and my faith… especially, “Are you busier than the Pope?”

Meximo,

I love that quote of Fr. Corapi’s: are you busier than the Pope? I think that kind of puts things in perspective. Glad you’re back to the church!

Blessings,

Can’t wait to see him in buffalo next year…just ordered my ticket…😃

I’m reading some of your opinions on dear Father, and would like to say that this wonderful man, specially hand picked by God Himself, to evangelize and preach the word, is our modern day St. Paul.

Whether some like him or not, or like or dislike his approach, I’m certain this man has been instrumental in saving many souls. I believe he was specially chosen to minister to those who have fallen along the wayside. As Jesus also mingled with sinners.

It’s very obvious to me that he is very special, just based on the fact that he led such a horrific and wicked life, and by his admission he was involved in just about every kind of sin out there. There are still tell tale signs of the type of person he was, but God has turned it all around and made evil into good.

He certainly is frightening to some, especially by opening his show with threats of going to heaven or hell. Excellent, Father:clapping: some people need this. In fact most do, including me. I’m not trying to say scare tactics should be used, but I love the way he interjects them in his sermons in that subtle way of his. Father calls black, black and white, white! He’s a real toughie and I love him all the more for it. Praise God for Father Corapi. I think the door will be held wide open when he reaches those gates of heaven.

Thank you Lord for Father Corapi! A wonderful servant who heard your call. May he be around to preach to all us sinners for a very long time.

:bible1:

He is on EWTN. His show is Catechism of the Catholic Church. He’s awesome. Check him out. 👍

I love Father Corapi. He does scare the heck out of us though doesn’t he? Good for him. He keeps us on our toes. We need more Father Corapi’s in this world. It would be a better world with his kind of ministry.

I agree he is a bit gruff, but priests should be. Otherwise, people would just go around doing as they want and taking ‘sin’ as something very casual and unimportant. Father sure knows how to get to the heart of the matter.

Father loves to tell his past history of being even worse then St. Augustine and how he was miraculously converted through his mother’s many rosaries over the years. His is truly a story of miraculous conversation similar to that of St. Paul.

Praise God for the Father Corapi’s and Father Groeschel’s of this world. Thank you Lord.

Not that my opinion means anything, but I like his approach. It’s no-holds-barred, no fluff, no room for wondering what he meant. I’ve learned a lot by listening to him. A previos post mentioned that they wished he’d speak more to the younger audience but maybe that’s not his charism. Somebody should talk to the younger crowd. They sure need it.

I like Fr. Corapi a lot, in terms of style, substance and approach.

St. Augustine’s Confessions are powerful because of the sin he was in and the holiness he later lived. That’s the same attraction many have with Fr. Corapi. It also makes him more believable to some since he’s not an ‘ivory tower’ priest who hasn’t ‘lived’.

To me, there is something about his voice that just commands your attention. There is a strength behind those words, and whatever personal charisma was originally there is fortified by the fact that he speaks the word of God.

My other favorite priest, in terms of speaking, on EWTN is Fr. Paublo Straub. The passion in his voice can really cut to the core.

I am watching a CD of Fr. Corapi as I type this. He is just so truthful! He knows his faith (our faith) inside out! He doesn’t mince words and make no excuses for ANYONE. We all should be as educated in our faith as he. That way, no one would be so critical of him - or critical of him AT ALL.

Blessings,

And it isn’t even a case of people saying, “Well, I don’t care for Father Corapi’s style, but you can’t deny his message is orthodox and truthful.”

Some people get their feathers ruffled if ANYONE talks about sin. 😛

I adore Fr. Corapi. Do you know how his health is now? I see him on Weekly Wisdom, and he looks quite well.

Thanks.
