I am not sure if any of you here have seen Pastor John Hagee from San Antonio,TX on TBN? I believe he is a fundamentalist? The guy seems to preach a lot of gloom & doom-fire and brimstone. I noticed he does like to take cheap shots at Obama and the U.N. I have yet to hear him actually preach the Gospel of Jesus and less of the Gospel According to John Hagee.

Any comments?

I took a quick look at his website. He seems to be Pentecostal.

The Gospel According to John Hagee is what he’s all about. That, and selling his books. I live in the area, and it’s hard to avoid hearing him and hearing about him.

Really? Now I am not familiar with the Penetcostal faith, but are they considered fundamentlist?
Pentacostal is a movement made up of different denominations and non denominatinal churches much like protestantism. Some Pentecostals are Fundamentalist some are not. Personnally I consider many members of this website Fundamentalist Catholics.

As for Pastor Hagee he is big on end times theology and the support of Israel.

Why am I not shocked? Sounds like another Joel Olsteen, but older and heavier with a different twist.

Thanks for the information. Fundamentalist Catholics? Please elaborate. Yes Hagee is big on end-times and support of Israel, but he can leave out his anti-UN and anti-Obama views. That is politics, not theology.

My opinion? He’s just another make-it-up as you go along, according to your own desires, Protestant. They’re a dime a dozen. The woods are full of 'em.

And the sad part they have a large following who believe them…:crying:

I stopped paying attention to him many years ago because his eschatology is completely wrong, and that was all he was talking about. I couldn’t trust him on anything else when he was heavily biased toward a subject he got completely wrong.

Then he put out pulp books about Y2K to make a quick buck. Ordained clergy shouldn’t be doing that. Greed is not a virtue. I have no interest in the man anymore.

For your consideration…two points for sharing:FIRST…HAGEE & CATHOLICS
Hagee Regrets Offending Catholics; Controversy Ends May 13, 2008
Pastor John Hagee sent a letter today [click here] to Catholic League president Bill Donohue that effectively ends the dispute the two men have had.
Donohue comments as follows
:

“After weeks of meeting with various Catholic leaders, and accessing scholarly literature on Catholic-Jewish relations, Pastor John Hagee has demonstrated an improved understanding of the Catholic Church and its history. In his letter to me, Hagee says, ‘I want to express my deep regret for any comments that Catholics have found hurtful.’ He specifically cites his emphasis of ‘the darkest chapters in the history of Catholic and Protestant relations with the Jews,’ and has pledged to provide a more complete and balanced portrayal going forward that will not reinforce mischaracterizations of the Catholic Church. And while he stresses that his invocation of terms like ‘apostate church’ and the ‘great whore’ were never meant by him to describe the Catholic Church, he acknowledges that anti-Catholics have long employed such language.

The tone of Hagee’s letter is sincere. He wants reconciliation and he has achieved it. Indeed, the Catholic League welcomes his apology. What Hagee has done takes courage and quite frankly I never expected him to demonstrate such sensitivity to our concerns. But he has done just that. Now Catholics, along with Jews, can work with Pastor Hagee in making interfaith relations stronger than ever. Whatever problems we had before are now history.** This case is closed**.”

SECOND…HAGEE IS IN THE BODY OF CHRIST…THE [CATHOLIC] CHURCHALBEIT IMPERFECT COMMUNION & UNITY…BUT STILL BAPTIZED INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST
Ephesians 1: 19-23 (NIV)
19and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, 20which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
**Ephesians 4: 11-16 (NIV)
**
11It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. 14Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. 15****Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. 16From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Lastly, we must point out any theological (biblical or apostolic tradition) errors/disagreements with Dr. Hagee…but we should never forget that as a baptized Christian…Dr. Hagee is in the Body of Christ…and thus in the Catholic Church (not its visible boundaries but surely within its metaphysical boundaries…for Christ is One… and He has One Body…the Catholic Church!). I put myself “first in the line” as one who needs to be reminded of this fact…all too often, I am sad to say.

I didn’t know that Christians were supposed to keep their heads in the sand. Are we all to be like the Amish and have no part in political discourse? I hope the USCCB is reading this so that they know to stay out of the debate over ObamaCare and Immigration reform.

The Amish and Mennonites have a particular witness they adhere to…they do not believe in being involved in secular government…they are members of another Kingdom and have an allegience to that Kingdom.

Friends have been involved in goverment since George Fox went to plead with Oliver Cromwell to halt the persecutions of men and women of religious conscience. Friends were influential in the drafting of the Constitution. Friends held political power in Pennsylvania for decades…they opened Pennsylvania to all who were persecuted for conscience sake.

Some Friends, even against our Peace Testimony, feel called to serve in the armed forces rather than humanitarian volunteer service. Some enter politics and hold government positions…Friendd seek to influence society by their presence and witness to the Presence of God in our midst, than rather than by legislation.

It is an individual decision as to what part one takes in government and politics…not only for Friends…but for all who call themselves “Christian”…we each must obey the Light as we are called to obey as individuals…we are not “cookie cutter” duplicates of one another.

Ah no! I never once said to keep our heads in the sand. The RCC does not pick or choose sides or favor one party over another, there is a difference. The RCC is not Republican,Democrat, etc, etc. The RCC is concerned with the dignity of man and not a specific party. John Hagee is very clear where he stands with Obama by taking cheap shots/sucker punches at him. That is my point.

If Protestants are motivated by our own desires, how does that account for them not doing everything according to the flesh? Our desires without God are sinful.

Anyone who condones abortion or does not work for the sanctity of life deserves what criticisms they get in my estimation
