What are your thoughts on John Hagee?

You can see the problem with his theology when he’s interviewed by the secular media. I’m sorry, but he’s weak. He gets asked hard questions and he can’t answer. You can make a drinking game out of how many times he responds to a question with, “I don’t know.”

What it boils down to is he’s a motivational speaker who inserts “God” into his sentences every now and then. That’s not good preaching and it isn’t the gospel.
If I am correct,Joel Olsteen does not even have a theology degree?

IIRC, his father was a fairly well known and respected pastor - which is why some people are shocked he turned out so bad. Actually, maybe he was bad and he’s tried to tone it down a bit. I forget. Um…forget I ever posted this. 😛

I am not sure if any of you here have seen Pastor John Hagee from San Antonio,TX on TBN? I believe he is a fundamentalist? The guy seems to preach a lot of gloom & doom-fire and brimstone. I noticed he does like to take cheap shots at Obama and the U.N. I have yet to hear him actually preach the Gospel of Jesus and less of the Gospel According to John Hagee.

Any comments?
I think John Hagee is a bit nutty. I’m more partial to Ray Comfort and the late Dr. Walter Martin.👍

Yes I once heard Olsteen tell Larry King that he heard his father a lot, thus he felt that was sufficient enough for him to preach.🤷

Quite right.

This is neither here nor there, but his wife IS hot.🙂

Basically trying to overcome his father’s legacy and replace it with his own.

What I REALLY find obnoxious is the “This Is My Bible” recitation he makes his parishioners recite at the beginning of each service.

Sounds like “Basic Training-Type Spiel for Protestants” kind of thing. Very annoying. 🤷

I hate that too, especially since he rarely quotes from it. He might as well start off with, “This is my Bible…take a good look at it, because this is the only time you’ll be looking at it this entire service.”

Actually it reminds me of that recitation from Full Metal Jacket.

“This is my Bible. There are many other like it but this one is mine…”

I wouldn’t be surprised if he one day tells his audience to give their Bibles a girl’s name.

Personally, I wouldn’t trust John Hagee as far as I could throw him (and if you’ve ever seen him, that’s NOT far!). I’m pretty sure Hagee is a Dispensationalist. I think I heard him once claim that Jesus Christ was NOT for the Jews, but only for the Gentiles. Apparently the Jews had EVERY RIGHT to expect a conquering Messiah, and Jesus didn’t fit the bill, so he was PROPERLY rejected. Maybe Hagee should have another look at the book of Hebrews (particularly Heb. 4:14, 6:20, 7:22, 12:2, 12:24, 13:8-21). Hagee’s religion in a nutshell, is that Christians are only good if they remain politically and militarily faithful to the Zionist agenda. This is heresy, plain and simple…at least according to St. Paul (Romans 10:12). Sorry Hagee, the Jews can’t wait to catch the bus the second time it comes around because, nobody, Jew nor Gentile, can be resurrected without first dying with Jesus Christ (Colossians 2).

Someone should send Hagee a good book on St. Francis of Assisi. 😉

John Hagee bears a striking resemblance to a sweaty and aged version of Chris Farley with glasses, a searsucker suit, and a bible 😃

As much as I dislike Hagee, how can he be a closet anti-semite when the dude CONSTANTLY talks about the role of Judaism in the rapture and end times and Israel this, our Jewish brothers that. He’s one of those end-times Revelation guys who obsesses about our friendship with Israel, the wailing wall, protecting our alliance with our Jewish friends, and their need for our protection and prayers against Islam. The guy, for all his nuttiness and anti-Catholic rants and lunacy seems a big fan of Israel and Jews to me? But maybe there’s more to this guy than meets the eye that you know and I don’t?
John Hagee?
Closet anti-semite, and definitely a rapturist.

If Hagee is an anti-Semite, then Al Sharpton must hate blacks.

Al Sharpton loves Al Sharpton! LOL…blacks are just his way of getting his talons dug into the fabric of our country to screw it up and have power over it. The guy isn’t firing on all thrusters for sure!

The only Jews John Hagee wants to see are ones that have converted to Christianity out of Judaism.
He is no friend of Jews as they are.

Hesitate to judge, but
Code:
Remembering Matt. 7:1-2, I hesitate to judge, though I presume it's a requirement everytime we vote, comment on Obama, Luther or a Pope, so here goes.

**Hagee.** Fire-eating preacher, very impressive preacher to the ill-informed, makes his name (and money?) off his ardent Christian Zionism, etc. However, he says that the Jews who survive the final battle all will accept Christ. Would this be a form of anti-Semitism? Not sure.

**Osteen.** Not at all like Hagee, Stays clear of political issues. Soft-spoken. Focuses on pop psychology, using the Bible, that attracts millions. I have to salute him and his success while not enthusiastic about either his style or his message contrent. But he should not be lumped in with phonies and fakers. I occasionally catch him Sunday morning and admire the way he stands before so many thousands and keeps his cool. He doesn't inspire me but obviously he inspires many others.

**Sharpton.** He has improved as an advocate since his seedy Twana Brawley days, but he is basically a hustler, using race as his means to fame and fortune. Unfortunately, the media (especially Fox) give him a platform. He does serious damage to the cause of civil rights as he alienates so many white folk. I suspect that Fox uses him because he angers so many of its viewers - a secret weapon of the radical right! Sharpton races to any incident that can be exploited racially, eager to get to the nearest microphone to grab attention and exploit tension.

I don’t think that’s quite enough to be anti-Semitic, especially when we admit that he’s a “Christian Zionist.” An antisemitic Zionist is like a white Black Panther.
And of course, that leads me to ponder on that episode of the Simpsons where Homer tries to make Bart more hardcore about putt putt…

Osteen: “Now, give your Bible a name!”
Christian: “Uh…why?”
Osteen: “Just give it a name!!”
Christian: “Um…Mr. Bible?”
Osteen: “No! Give it a girl’s name!”
Christian: “…Mom?”
