What are your thoughts on women dressing modestly?

I’m 6 ft. 165 lbs. One of my coworkers wears skinny jeans to work and I don’t know how he manages to sit down! 😬 I like my cargo pants 👍 I just can’t stand wearing form fitting clothes 😱

I keep wanting to buy one (a real one, not a fake one, you ninny) but I put if off again and again.

I have an aloe vera plant that might grow really big some day but there is a chance I will eat it before then. 🍴

My aunt bought me tight-fitting pants. I wore them once or twice but never again. I can understand gym pants and such because the material is elastic, but I seriously don’t understand how women wear super tight-fitting jeans without going bat crazy. And no, it’s not because of the crotch area; it’s because of how it rubs against the thighs and legs. Very uncomfortable imo.

I get some comfy shorts from Walmart for the gym. Cotton is the best! Nylon gets HOT 🔥

I would HATE working out in that… it looks stuffy, and considering how Olympic lift/ powerlift heavy my workouts are, it wouldnt work at all…

I’ve shown up at the gym from work in dress pants & a long button-up shirt before. I don’t do aerobics so it isn’t as bad. 😆

Do you live or work on a farm or rural property?

Our ancestors gave birth at home, did not wander that far from home, did not use ag machinery that might catch loose clothing, the list goes on. Not to mention protection from snake bite.

I read Colleen’s book, too, and stopped wearing pants outside the house for nearly five years. I now wear pants with a long shirt or sweater that covers mid-thigh. I feel most feminine in mid-calf skirts, but pants are more practical depending on weather or activity. Regardless of what I wear, I strive for modesty.

I find the canvas cotton quite heavy and stiff. Good in midwinter though.

Snake gaiters get your snake gaiters! 😮

Yes, we are talking rural women working on farms. In the days of the horse and cart or bullock wagon.

Those were the days! When men were men and women were women! Pioneer spirit :cowboy_hat_face:

I actually love those dresses. And even the hats (I have one somewhere).

They were back in style briefly in the 80s with bigger flower prints and I bought several. Not out of modesty, I just love 'em. They remind me of how much I enjoyed the Laura books as a kid and also of visiting my grandma who was born in 1880 something.
Had pinafores to go with them too. I probably looked kind of silly going around in that stuff at age 30 but I didn’t care.

You are going to get a wide variety of responses on this,😀 because what is considered “modest” varies with the culture, era, and situation.
Do you girls find it hard to dress modestly?
Not really. However, I am not as conservative in my approach as what you describe.
Do you think women should only wear skirts and dresses (mainly, no pants)?
No.
