Funny you say that because I just got mine back. I couldn’t remember who I lent it too. My brother-in-law showed up Sunday to borrow one of my saws and he had it in his hand. Every time I read it I get something more from it!

Well, now you can enjoy it again. But I hope you don’t need that saw any time soon. Sounds like your b-i-l is a bit forgetful on the timely returns. 😉

I see from your profile that you are from Middle Earth, I loved LOTRs and am reading some of those over again.
I see you are also kinda new there are lots of Clubs to go to. I went to one called the Curmidegeons and another called the crazy internet Junkys. The people here are really nice . I’ll PM you.😉

Yes, I too love Middle Earth. You can’t read LOTR too many times.

Oh man, good luck. She is all over the place. When she apologizes for being hard to follow, she’s not being unduly modest. If you haven’t read it yet, you might want to read “Fire Within” by Fr. Thomas Dubay first.

Heh John, I’m reading Catch Me a Rainbow Too ALSO ! for my SFO formation class. I’ll be professed in Aug. 2006 , how about you ? We finished Chapter 14 at our last meeting. The discussions are so enlightening, as we each discuss our take on the chapter.
 
I’m reading Witness to Hope and Lord of the Rings too. After I finish Witness to Hope, I hope to read Augustine’s Confessions and the Chronicles of Narnia.
 
Eclipse of the Sun by Michael D. O’Brien. It’s good, but I preferred his Father Elijah and Strangers and Sojourners over the present read. All are well written and thoroughly Catholic. 👍

Plus I just printed out JP II’s Theology of the Body series from EWTN and I’m looking forward to reading it thoroughly when I have time.
 
Right now I’m reading Young Fu of the Upper Yangtze, a Newbery award book by Elizabeth Foreman Lewis that I bought for a quarter yesterday at our library. I’m reading all the good children’s books I didn’t read when I was a child. And collecting them (for the grandchildren, if we ever have any. That’s my only justification for hanging on to them by the boxload, besides saving them from destruction by the library because they need the shelf space for stuff like trash by Judy Blume).

Also Introduction to the Devout Life by St. Francis de Sales. I just finished Soldier of the Spirit: The Life of Charles de Foucauld. Wonderful book that gives me background to the man who wrote that Prayer of Abandonment that I often say.

O_O I love to pronounce German… It sounds so reminiscent of jingoistic tendencies 🙂

I’m reading at the moment Mormon texts, in particular Doctrine and Covenants, which are revelations made by Joseph Smith; there are now in persecution by the people, and “God” comforts them and tells them that they will be rewarded for being faithful. I’ve just reached Section 107 for those interested! 😃

It’s about the 1918 flu. FASCINATNG!

You should read “The Spirit of the Liturgy” by Cardinal Ratzninger.

John, I’ve read The Interior Castle and what was really helpful in trying to digest it, is a set of 4 cassettes I borrowed from a friend called, UNION WITH GOD: Learning from Teresa of Avila
five talks by Ralph Martin. He does a good job with it.
