Unable to get “The Politically InCorrect Guide to Islam” the author, Robert Spencer, mentioned many other books including the following:

The Crusdades: The World’s Debate…by Hilaire Belloc, 1937

23 Years: A Study of the Prophetic Career of Mohammed…by Ali Dashti. Dashti was an Iranian Muslim, took an honest look at Muhammed and published the above. At 80, he was imprisoned and murdered in 1982 for writing the book.

Hatred’s Kingdom…by Dore Gold. Recommended by another poster on another board. Said it is good but not an easy read.

What book are you reading?
Six Men Who Built the Modern Auto Industry by Richard A. Johnson

Don’t think it’s well-known or a best-seller, but hey! I’m a gear-head! What else would you expect?

The story of Henry Ford II, Soichiro Honda, Lee Iacocca, Bob Lutz, Ferdinand Piëch, and Eberhard von Kuenheim… and how they effected the rise of the modern-day auto industry. A fascinating read for a person researching the current global motor industry.

About to start Moby Dick soon…
Wow. Good luck. I’ve never been able to finish that one. I’ve wanted to, though. I just finished Elizabeth Kantor’s “The Politically Incorrect Guide to English and American Literature” and she recommended it. Now, if it were only on tape . . .

America Alone by Mark Steyn, It’s the end of the world as we know it. Someday soon, you might wake up to the call to prayer from a muezzin. Europeans already are…

Five women have recommended reading “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”, “The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest”, and “The Girl Who Played With Fire” by Stieg Larsson, now deceased.

He based his lead character on Pippi Longstocking as an adult.

One woman said it is the type of book you wish wouldn’t end. Sounds like a good read for the beach.
The books sound rather interesting.

To be honest I dont think I could get into the other book you read “The Politically InCorrect Guide to Islam” by: Robert Spencer.

Thanks to my niece I have the book “Everlost” by: Neal Shusterman

God bless,

Still reading To Be The Man by the wrestler Ric Flair. I am a slow reader. I wish I could have you alls passion for reading like yall have. I even went and bought me three more books at Half Price Books and I still have a bed shelf full of books, Two Half Price Books bags full and a box in my third bedroom full of them.

Don’t worry about it I’m not a very speedy reader myself…It actually depends on the book or whatever material I’m reading if it’s rather interesting it doesn’t take me long to read and sometimes I like to take my sweet time to “absorb” what I’m reading.

I’ve read books in one sitting and some have actually taken me years to read.

When I first picked up “The Imitation of Christ” by: Thomas A’Kempis. I thought it would take forever to read since he used early modern english but it didn’t take me long to read.

It amazes me that people can read more than one book at a time.

Happy reading and God bless,

Just finished Catholics and the New Age by Fr. Pacwa - very very good, not your run-of the-mill anti-occult emotionalism, but instead an informed and very rational response.

Now reading Jesus of Nazareth by Pope Benedict XIV. Surprised to find this a very enjoyable read.

Also skimming Our Lady Speaks To Her Beloved Priests (7th English Edition) by the Marian Movement of Priests. Not sure what to think - seems a little wierd. Any thoughts?

Reading Xenocide, book 3 of Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game series.

One of many is complete idiots guide to the catholic catechism. Simple, yet a superb learning tool as well as apologetics resource…

Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke

Interesting so far. I had a road trip for work so started it on CD. I really enjoyed the beginning. Now it’s kind of lagging. Maybe it’ll all tie together in the end but it seems like a lot of side stories and details that could be done without.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows.

Story is about the occupation of the Channel Islands, Gurernsey in particular, by the Germans during WWII. Touching story. About 250 pages done in letter form.

Shaffer was an editor and this was her first and only book. She took sick before she could finish it and asked her neice, also a writer, to finish the book. Shaffer died shortly after.

Would make a good movie. Trying to pick the actresses for the parts. 😉

“The War Of Words: History’s Great Military Speeches, Songs, War Cries & Final Words” by James Inglis. It’s got some great oratory and letters in it, from Saint Joan of Arc, Pope Urban’s call for a crusade, Abe Lincoln’s gettysburg speech, Napoleon, to great WW2 speeches from hitler, churchill and especially John Curtin’s plea to the American public to support my country in the pacific, which was one of the great aussie speeches.

It goes right up to the present and ends with George Bush’s brilliant but highly diversive “axis of evil” post 9/11 state of the union address, followed the original words and history of the hymn Amazing Grace.

A nice history book.

Next up: Sing Like a Catholic by Jeffrey Tucker and then Purgatory by Fr. F.X. Schouppe.

Also skimming Our Lady Speaks To Her Beloved Priests (7th English Edition) by the Marian Movement of Priests. Not sure what to think - seems a little wierd. Any thoughts?
We have the book “To The Priests: Our Lady’s Beloved Sons”

I was actually wondering that myself?

Not really sure what to think of the Marian Movement or Fr. Gobbi 🤷
