The Women Of Lancaster County series by Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould. I am on book three of the series. They are The Amish Midwife, the second The Amish Nanny, the third book is the Amish Bride, and the last is The Amish Seamstress. Very good reads.
šŸ™‚ I live in Lancaster County. And we almost hired an Amish nanny about ten years ago.

ā€œThe Silver Linings Playbook.ā€ I’m barely into it but it is very, very well written.

I will second that opinion. I worn and highlighted copy of it sits in my bookcase in my office and I am looking at it now as I type this. Certainly was instrumental in my conversion story, even though I was not a ā€œfundamentalistā€ā€“as defined by Keating in his book. šŸ˜‰
I ordered this book from Amazon a couple of weeks ago. Now that I finished ā€œRome Sweet Romeā€ by the Hahn’s, I can move onto the Keating book. Looking forward to it.

I’m currently (re) reading The Three Musketeers and The English Patient.

The Amish Seamstress, the last book in the Women Of Lancaster County Series by co-authors Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould. The first was The Amish Midwife, the second, The Amish Nanny, the Amish Bride. This has been a real good series. I love the Amish Fiction books. When I’m having a bad day and just can’t afford to travel, I tell everyone to do not disturb, I’m headed for Amish Country. These books have also gotten me back into praying and they’ve helped in calming my severe anxiety disorder. Most importantly, they have brought me closer to God and see Him in a different light.

Intellect: Mind Over Matter - Mortimer J. Adler and Love in a Dry Season - Shelby Foote

Oh my all these books sound so interesting šŸ™‚

Praying with Saint Paul Daily Reflections on the Letter of the Apostle Paul by: Fr. Peter John Cameron, O.P.

The Last Templar by: Raymond Khoury

**For Lent I am reading Daily Bible Readings for Lent

creativecommunications.com/denomPicker.php**

😃 Happy Reading and God bless each and everyone of you 😃

I recently attended a men’s conference and Fr. Gaitley was a speaker. He wrote a book and recommended it during his talk. So for the next 33 days I’ll be reading:

33 Days to Morning Glory: A Do-It-Yourself Retreat In Preparation for Marian Consecration by Fr. Michael Gaitley.

My 14yr son also attended the conference and we’re going to do it together - We’re starting tonite - The Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. I believe that will put us finishing up with our consecration on Divine Mercy Sunday.

Adventures in Daily Prayer by Bert Ghezzi

The Life and Prayers of St. Joseph by Wyatt North (ebook) and for Lent,

The Gospel of Mark.

Compassion: A Reflection on the Christian Life by Henri Nouwen, Donald P. Mcneill and Douglas A. Morrison

Suggested by Monsignor Patrick Bishop:

A great book which has been instrumental in refining my thoughts on Christianity in a very positive way. Easy to read but chock full of content.

33 Days to morning glory and The ā€˜One Thing’ is Three. Both by Fr. Gaitley

Dandelion_Wine, I was at that same conference. Gave me the idea to do the same thing.

Sweet!! I’ve gotta say, it’s pretty hardcore. It’s nothing to be taken lightly. I’ve learned some interesting things I hadn’t considered before e.g. ā€˜Who is the Immaculate Conception?’

I know, has so much info, in so little space. My wife and I read each day at about midday before I head off to work. I ponder some during work, than reread when I get home. I tell you, though, I’m already seeing fruits of it. After I’m done, I want to bring Hearts a Fire to our parish.

Awesome!!

I am reading ā€œThe Life Of Christā€ by Fulton Sheen
Sounds like a very interesting book. I wouldn’t mind to read books by Venerable Fulton J Sheen

I also like watching his videos on YouTube…This is just on example of Venerable Fulton J Sheen’s talks on YouTube:

Dandelion_Wine- I have read about Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC from the Marian Helper Magazine and the Magazine mentions his books that he’s authored…A magazine I have been receiving free for a few years now

lighthousecatholicmedia.org/store/speaker/fr-michael-gaitley

The Marian Helpers Magazine also mentions Fr. Donald Colloway’s books that he authored

fathercalloway.com/books/

I haven’t been necessarily been reading any books but I have read the Fall/Winter and Spring issue of the Marian Helper Magazine if you would like a print copy or to read it online please click on the following website

I hope I’m not breaking any rules by posting this and please do take note that I’m not trying to ā€œsellā€ or ā€œadvertiseā€ anything here – just like to pass something on to my fellow Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ

I also read Catholic Missions of Canada – Another magazine that you can sign up for free (one year subscription) but for Canadian Residents only

^^^^

However, I think you can read these magazines online

I’ve also read a booklet called, The History of Eucharistic Adoration by: Fr. John A Hardon which you can read online here:

or here

I just finished reading the July/August issue of Liguorian.

My goodness I have a lot of reading to catch up on…

Happy Reading everyone and God bless you,

Has anybody read ā€œThe Coin of the Realmā€ by Roger Dubin? I’m reading it to write a review, but this isn’t my style and I just want to be sure I’m on the right track with it.

Mother Teresa: Come Be My Light: The Private Writings of the Saint of Calcutta by Mother Theresa.

The interesting thing is that I finished up my last book and my dad had borrowed me this probably over a year ago, so I had it in my pile, AND while doing the 33 days mentioned previously, the topic for the week was Mother Theresa… :yup:

Getting close to having read all of Edgar Allan Poe’s fiction. Currently on The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym. I have to say, somehow it’s a bit… more gruesome than I’d anticipated.

Finished the first book of St. Irenaeus’ Against Heresies a few weeks ago, haven’t got around to starting the second yet, but hopefully soon.

On the Bible front, finishing St. Matthew’s Gospel tonight, probably just moving along to St. Mark tomorrow. Slowly working through the Old Testament, currently in Leviticus. Quite liking Knox’s Version, I must say.

Besides those, I have several Library of America volumes half-finished which I shall probably move on to once I finish Poe.
