I am so strongly against abortion that it almost puts me into tears to think about the atrocity as im sure many of you are too.
I am wondering what i could do to help with this cause for im only 15. any ideas?

encourage kids of your age not to engage in sex

no sex = no pregnancy

kids think its cool to do it
make it cool not to do it

I agree with Choy. Everyone wants to do what’s cool. Be an example to your peers. I think holiness is cool and its not easy to be holy in an ungodly world but with God all things are possible.

I would encourage you to join a local pregnancy center. There may be one that is of a particular faith. Also you may want to check your local Catholic Church and see if on their bulletin they have a ministry that helps women who are pregnant. Also Mother Mary would appreciate it and love it if you would join her in prayers to end abortion. See this link: sancta.org/patr-unb.html
Mary is the protectress of the unborn.

*Protest and pass out informational flyers.
*Stand up to teachers that support abortion.
*make youtube clips in opposition
*join operation rescue www.operationrescue.org
*encourage the removal of Barak Obama from office

There are many good programs where you can volunteer or support. Almost every diocese in the USA has a diocesan Respect Life or Pro-Life Office. You can contact them. They are in need of volunteers at all levels. They do train, for free. You must be 18 and in communion with the Catholic Church to be part of them.

If you’re in the Northeast you may want to contact the Sisters of Life in the Archdiocese of NY. You can find them on the internet. They have a wealth of information and are in need of new sisters and more volunteers.

Priests for Life has a new lay branch that is worth looking into. I believe their address is www.priestsforlife.org.

There is a group on the west coast called Rockfordprolife.org. I have never had any contact with them, but am very impressed by their activities and their web page. Check them out.

In the Archdiocese of Miami there is a strong diocesan office for Respect Life. Their webpage is under reconstruction, but you can email or PM me and I’ll send you as much information as I can. I helped them set up their Board of Advisors.

The Archdiocese of Denver has an excellent Pro-Life Office under the leadership of Archbishop Charles Chaput, OFM Cap. He’s a fellow Franciscan whom I have know for many many years. I trust his leadership in this area. If you’re in Middle America, that’s the office to turn to for more information.

In New England there is the Archdiocese of Boston’s Respect Life. Again, it’s headed by another fellow Franciscan, Cardinal Sean O’Malley, OFM Cap. I’ve known him for a long time and know of his commitment to this ministry and his gentle and prudent leadership. For anyone in that part of the country, that’s another contact point.

You don’t have to be in any of these dioceses to get information and direction. They are the big religional dioceses in certain parts of the country. They can put you in touch with the local ministries in your diocese.

If you are male, there is a new community of Franciscan Brothers for Life that is just getting off the ground in the Southeast. Let me know and I’ll give you more info.

You can also check out Project Rachel online. They are excellent in the post abortion healing process. They have many outreach programs.

There are also programs for younger volunteers in some dioceses. If all else fails, approach your local pastor. Many parishes have a Respect Life Coordinator.

These are just some things that come to mind on short notice. I hope it helps someone. Always remember to carry the biggest gun there is and don’t be afraid to use it, the Holy Rosary.

Fraternally,

Br. JR, OSF 🙂

First, Pray, it is silent power.

Talk to your peers of abstinence, but not for the sake of it, under the light of Catholic teachings.
God created you you to be happy (in the long term, not for a moment that may cause future problems).
God Created You, respect yourself!

God Bless You,

You’re 15? Don’t either get pregnant or get someone else pregnant before you’re married. Learn as much as you can about abstinence AND birth control. Know that getting pregnant while un-married is the fastest road to poverty there is.

Ask your parents to find an unwed mother and provide her room and board during the time she is pregnant and for 1 year after the birth.

Lots of people have been praying lots of prayers for a long time about this. Apparently your god isn’t interested. 🤷 Or different tactics are required.

Dear Hello,

It is so comforting to know that there are young folks like you who deem all life to be God given.

I like you am an avid anti-abortionist. I have stood in our town commons along with our parish priest as well as ministers from other faiths, …all of us committed to advancing the support of pro-life. I exchange emails with others, some of whom are on the fence. I speak openly about my firm belief that any choice should not ignore the pre-born. The choice for the mother happened at the time of conception, not after God instilled a soul into a baby beginning the journey of life. Some don’t like to hear that but then they are unable to give me their timeline of life and its exact beginning.

What you might do has already been addressed by others and I believe they gave you good advice. I might add that at your age probably your access to online friends might afford you the opportunity to sent them some of the pro-life articles that are swelling the news media of late. Or you might just want to ask them how they feel about the issue and why they feel as they do. Perhaps just ask them how they feel about the health care bill being proposed including abortion. That should ignite some thoughts I would suppose. How about you?

When I was your age we all interacted with opinions and feelings quite openly and sometimes took hits for being honest. But I learned from the experience and I believe in the long run I was rewarded with an inquisitive outlook on life…all life.

Sorry for being so chatty but I think you understand my feelings and my need to get them out. Just be honest with others about how you feel without being as nasty as some of the pro-abortionists can and often appear to be.

God Bless You,
Diane

Hi, it is so refreshing to see someone as deeply caring as you at 15.You are a God send!
Many people have given you good advice. My only comment is you have the best deterrent possible…PRAYER.
Prayers really work !
God bless you for your caring attitude. May you inlfuence others your own age around you by your fine example.

Most importantly, you can pray. I recommend praying the rosary and the divine mercy chaplet. Secondly, you can sign up for action alerts on various websites such as priestsforlife.org and do what they ask you to do such as sign a petition when you get the chance. One such petition you can sign is at this website: fightfoca.com/ Third, you can probably go along with a church group to protest/pray in front of an abortion clinic in your town/area. Fourth, you can offer up your sufferings and Masses, and just about everything for the cause of bringing about an end to abortion and for the conversion of abortionists and other pro-abortion people. May God bless you in your efforts to bring about an end to abortion.

Hi ~~~~~~~

Dearest Hello1234,

Bless you, dear, for asking this very important question.

Please remind both young and old and at every opportunity about the following points:

God created us.
God made us in His own image and likeness.
He gave us our beautiful bodies fashioned with magnificent power…the power to create another precious human being.

We must not abuse this power.

We all must learn self control.
We all must learn about and practice abstinence.
We all must learn about how to create and maintain healthy marriages and families.

If you start out by learning how to do these things, then teach what you know to others, you would be giving a great gift to the world. For each person that you have taught these things, you will have prevented at least one abortion.

God bless you.
You can do it. 👍
You are not alone. 😉

Elizabeth

Your conclusion is absurd. The Catholic Church (which God Himself founded) tells us that prayer is very effective, and that God is, indeed, “interested”.

Unfortunately, this evil is deeply rooted, and so are the evils that enabled it (pride, selfishness, lust, etc.), so it’s going to take a great deal more prayer and penance and a lot of time to overcome it.

Please refrain in the future from advising young Catholics on this board in a manner that is so obviously contrary to what the child believes. If you want to proselytize people, do it somewhere else. Such behavior is not appropriate on a Catholic forum.

Peace,
Dante

In the words of Mother Teresa, “fight abortion with adoption”.

I am somewhat confused by your use of ‘birth control’ in the same sentence as abstinence since the church only recognizes the rhythm method, a form of abstinence, as the only legitimate avenue to limit births. Your addition of ‘AND’ seems to indicate other than what the church teaches.

Ask your parents to find an unwed mother and provide her room and board during the time she is pregnant and for 1 year after the birth.

“Your god”. Are you assuming hello is worshiping a pagan god since my God and I presume hello’s is always addressed with an upper case ‘G’ whereas many pagan’s and non-believers use the lower case ‘g’ to lessen the meaning of God as a supreme being.
