What chapter and verse?

What chapter and verse is it that says we no longer have to follow the ritual or cultural laws that bound the jews in the OT?

Start with Jesus “fulfilling the law”. When a contract or other obligation is fulfilled, it is complete and nothing further need be done specifically regarding it. Jesus is the new covenant, and we have His commands as our law of love. Paul wrote extensively about being freed from the law.

I would suggest you read the book of Romans, for Paul’s explanation.

Interesting, I was reading The Jewish Annotated New Testament, which is a commentary on the NT by scholarly Jews. They point out that Paul discourages things like circumcision for Gentiles and allows for eating all foods which are a part of God’s creation, etc. but, they point out, significantly for them I guess, that Paul never comes out to discourage “Jewish Christians” from following the Jewish customs.

It may (or may not) be significant in this respect that Christians met in synagogues, until the Jews expelled them.

14 For he is our peace, who has made us both one, and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by abolishing in his flesh the law of commandments and ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, 16 and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby bringing the hostility to an end.
