No, we are not required to be detectives. Please, get some help!!

Tomorrow is Sunday. It is a perfect time to talk to your Priest.

Examples of “supporting sin” would be, to my knowledge, attending a “gay wedding”; baking cakes and selling them to gays or other immoral set-ups(of course the people involved have it make it known); attending non-Catholic weddings, when one of the people is Catholic; driving someone to an abortion clinic. these are some examples.

I have scrupulosity too. I know the feelings of anxiety and doubt you feel. But you are making it worse by giving in and seeking reassurance on the internet. Furthermore, many posters on here will give you advice that is not helpful, and not every poster will be in agreement, which will only add to your confusion. Listen to the advice of the people who tell you not to ask these questions here.

Please, this sort of response provides personal opinion, in an average thread we could simply discuss it. This thread is started by someone who is very young and shows signs of scrupulosity. Please, do not add fuel to his guilt and confusion!!

Michael, the worry you have is anxiety derived from your scruples . The thing you do to calm that anxiety ( posting a question and seeking answers) is called the compulsion. When you give into the compulsion you’ll feel a momentary sense of relief, but it never lasts long. In the long run the anxiety increases and becomes more rabid in its demands for more and more compulsions. The only way to stop it, is to not listen to or meet the demand for the compulsive behavior. You cannot learnto do this on your own. You need a priest who can help you with this. In addition, if the problem is more than scruplulosity and ends up being more of a psychological issue such as “OCD” you would need a professional to help you along with the priest. The more you post these kinds of questions the more scrupulous you’ll become. You’ll land yourself in a nightmare.
