What did Jesus accomplish by His life and His death? How high is your view of the work of Christ?
Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, accomplished in His perfect obedience, the salvation of all sinners. In His sacrifice, He has made righteous all those who are baptized and believe in Him, trusting in His righteousness; earning for them eternal salvation. What did Jesus accomplish by His life and His death? I couldn’t have said it better myself. We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
**For us men and for our salvation **
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of Life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
God bless you
In the ‘traditional’ themes of crucifixion, burial, and resurrection ~ Jesus Christ conquered <Death.> A consistent theme in Orthodox Tradition and in the Orthodox prayer book - not to mention the . . .What did Jesus accomplish by His life and His death? How high is your view of the work of Christ?
Can you expound what you are saying? It’s very good, but It also can be used to support universalism. What do you mean that He accomplised salvation for all sinners?Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, accomplished in His perfect obedience, the salvation of all sinners. In His sacrifice, He has made righteous all those who are baptized and believe in Him, trusting in His righteousness; earning for them eternal salvation.
Historic ancient creeds are very important in their proper place. I love them too. I consider myself to be a creedal Christian. Can you expound in your own words what Jesus actually accomplished by His perfect life and sacrificial death on the cross? We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

Excellent, God is reconciling the world to Himself through Jesus Christ! I believe Jesus came to rescue us from our sins, bringing us near to God. How do you think the ministry of reconciliation is coming along from our perspective?Everyone has spoken the truth, but our Lord Jesus Christ did even more:
“The Son of God became man in order to restore all creation, in one supreme act of praise, to the One who made it from nothing. He, the Eternal High Priest who by the blood of his Cross entered the eternal sanctuary, thus gives back to the Creator and Father all creation redeemed.” (Ecclesia de Eucharistia, 8).
Maybe Jesus died for us so we can live? Can you share more about how Jesus conquered death, and what it means to us?In the ‘traditional’ themes of crucifixion, burial, and resurrection ~ Jesus Christ conquered <Death.> A consistent theme in Orthodox Tradition and in the Orthodox prayer book - not to mention the . . .

Excellent point, Jesus did not come to abolish the law, but rather Jesus came to fullfill it. Do you mind sharing what He fullfilled and how it pertains to us?Also, He did come to abandon the Law, but to fulfill it.
In your view, what did Jesus accomplish for us sinners?Jesus was a good teacher who led the people of Israel to many good things.
That’s good, because of what Jesus accomplished… we who believe on Him become adopted sons of God.Jhn 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
Jhn 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Sinners? As in Christians? I suppose that he provides Christians with the hope of a better future. It’s not something that I am terribly knowledgeable about. In your view, what did Jesus accomplish for us sinners?
What kind of good morals did He teach?Sinners? As in Christians? I suppose that he provides Christians with the hope of a better future. It’s not something that I am terribly knowledgeable about.
I respect Jesus mainly because he taught of many good morals. (Some bad, but most of them were to ultimately help make the people of Judea live moral lives. For this, I respect him.)
This question could be better answered by Christians. He taught us to love our neighbor in the same way that we love ourselves. He taught us to not covet that which we don’t have. He taught us to show compassion for the weak, poor, and dejected. What kind of good morals did He teach?
