What did Martin Luther condemn about the Church?

Did you? I have never personally been to Rome, but I have entered freely churches in Paris, London, etc (Catholic ones). Perhaps I should have said Catholic churches (many of which contain incredible art, as well as being works of art in themselves). Thanks for the info. (Perhaps the money for the museum helps offset the cost of security? I’m not sure there started to be a charge there as well). And of course there are statues throughout Europe, and various shrines which I believe are also free, I know it’s free down at the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockton, MA, which can all be viewed by people, and it’s not as though they are in say Bill Gates’ private collection which most of us would never have a chance to see!
 
Yes I did. It is still amazing and if you can you should make the visit. St Peters is free. However you will stand in a long line through metal detectors and so. Maybe less in winter months. I even attended Mass there.

What you say about other Catholic Churches I agree with. My wife is from Poland and when I am there I make a point to go to every Catholic Church ( Which is pretty much all of them). All that is free. I misunderstood you in a way. They all are some kind of unofficial museum.

What I most liked would be the little town Catholic Churches in Ireland. They won’t be considered "extravagant " but it was like they all had their own “thing”.

You say many things here but what bugs me the most is the times you say Luther was rude here and Luther was rude there. Without saying anything more on that issue it implies the Catholic Church was all “Gentleman” in all of this?

Is there any basis you have with regards to this claim?
 
Yup

It’s with regards to the communication between them. It makes the one sound arrogant and the other very "as I said Gentleman "…

“All the money in the Church’s treasury” is not the same as “the Pope’s personal wealth”.
Further the wealth Luther spoke of includes the value of all the real estate. Most of that is church buildings, priest’s residences, monasteries and the like. Not liquid assets, and in fact they cost enormous amounts of money for upkeep.

OK, so who started the “reformation”? Who had deep political ties in Germany that were opposed to anything Rome? Who said the following, after being offered numerous olive branches and opportunities to repent over several years?

Who started the polemics? Who was an increasingly profane, mentally disturbed man? Who shredded scripture until Philipp Melanchthon convinced him to restore it?

This is a stable holy man?

IMO, Luther’s only chance at heaven is that he was profoundly mentally ill and less culpable for his sins. That, and the intercession of the Saints.

You seem to know a lot about me and ARE ATTACKING ME PERSONALLY . So please, I just asked a mere question. If it triggered something, I apologise. I really do.

Otherwise, if you cannot substantiate the claim, just say so. The personal attacks won’t do much to me.

My implication is very much a question as intended. If that seemed ambiguous I apologise.

What source do we have? The best one to my knowledge is the movie “Luther” where he seemed very “nice”. So my question is really just why would you add that to your post? Unless and this is the part I am very interested in, please refer me to that source. I am not saying anything. I would actually like more sources.

You seem to have taken me the wrong way for some reason.
