At first I thought this thread was all like:
Get your house blessed. What should we do with all our stuff?
There is specific cause to believe that the rock is cursed, so there you would want the rock to be dealt with specifically by a cleric qualified to do so.Can we also assume that would take care of a rock given to the OP from a pagan friend?
Which strangely seems to be the main theme in this thread. That the ‘rock’ is just a rock. Rather than being weary of accepting a gift that is linked strongly with pagan spirituality. Failing to identify the spiritual risks to the OP and fobbing it off as an an inanimate object that it is no potential spiritual risk. The greatest con the devil ever pulled was convincing people he didn’t exist.
Items lose their blessing when sold because you can’t charge for grace (that is the sin of simony). However, that is NOT true for curses. Think about it. If the love of money is evil, and curses are also evil, you have two evils. That doesn’t cancel the evils out. It makes them worse. If items lose their blessing when sold, then they lose their curses when sold too, right? So just sell the item to someone for $0.01 – problem solved!
