Hi all,
I’ve had a lot of newbie posts lately. That’s because I am a newbie. I recently came back to the Church after a ten year absence or so (I was confirmed before I left, and have been to confession since then numerous times and my priest said I was “okay to go” [paraphrasing])
I have been reading and reading and reading but a lot of things confuse me. I was hoping someone here could put a merciful touch to an explanation for me, and ‘break things down’ a little.
Is everything I need rolled into the CCC? I’m also reading a Catholic study bible; though it’s not my first reading of the Bible, it is the first Catholic study.
Is everything in the CCC considered infallible? I was bewildered when I learned that Vatican II was not fallible, because I thought all documents and declarations and such were. I just want to know everything that’s necessarily true in the Church’s eyes so I don’t go around either a) spouting heresy or b) saying something is true when it’s really only opinion.
I’ve really been trying to learn this on my own but it’s too much; can someone help me understand?
