You’re foisting a heretical interpretation on a text that, although ambiguous, certainly does not teach heresy. Here’s the proper interpretation:"“Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience -** those too may achieve eternal salvation**.337”
I understand simple English, and the Catechism clearly states that those who do not know His Church may achieve eternal salvation. Tough to get clearer than that.
Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, may achieve salvation through a baptism of desire.
It’s really very simple. The Church has always taught that baptism is necessary for salvation, and that there is no salvation outside the Church. Those immutable dogmas can and must be reconciled with the pronouncements of the Second Vatican Council. Otherwise, the church has fallen into heresy.
