What do think about Gloria Polo's testimony

The angels do look with awe on what the Lord has done for humans. The angels did not fall from grace and had no need to be redeemed.

We live in such a materialistic world, (that is passing away) that it is difficult to understand the spiritual miracles that happen to holy people.

Yes, our Lord Jesus Christ will bless the whole world through the revelation of Divine Mercy that He chose to be revealed in St. Faustina.

Any kind of suffering can affect the brain, it doesn’t mean that what the Lord is doing in the person is not valid. The Church takes a long time to investigate such things.

Divine Mercy is found in the gospel, not in the 1930s by a person who claims where there is no proof or backing whatsoever that they were real. Angels being jealous of humans because we can suffer,what nonsense.Sounds like Faustina was part of the cult of suffering & death that plaqued christianity for too long

You can believe what you want about private revelations, but this statement goes against Church Teaching. Please refrain from it in this thread.

Of course Divine Mercy is found in the gospel, because it is about Jesus and He is the Word!

The world needs to have a spotlight put on Divine Mercy!

The angels being “jealous” because we can suffer is a manner of speaking.

When we cannot change suffering, in whatever form it comes in, it can be redemptive when we accept it with love and resignation.

Very sad post by you! St Faustina has brought so many people to God! How can you say what you do?
 
In the 1970s a document in the Vatican surfaced that stated with all the advances in psychiatry/psychology approval of so-called private revellations of some kind may of been premature.Approval many decades or centuries after the person died is highly suspect. Margaret mary had her private revellations of the sacred heart approved but she licked vomit & feces once as a penance thinking this was pleasing to God. sainthood is fallible & it does not validate a private revellation

Where is your evidence to backup what you are saying?

I know not of the document you speak of and its context.

Saints in their excess of zeal and their desire to abase themselves were imprudent at times. It is hard for me to understand that fault of excess, as I am not spiritually at the place where St. Margaret Mary was. Obviously she did not ask her spiritual director if she should follow certain inclinations to mortify herself; I am certain he would have said no.

Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ has helped countless souls in their spiritual life.

I admitted to having a tendency towards scepticism when hearing some accounts of what the thread refers to, but I wouldn’t consider myself to be more “sensible” then any one who doesn’t share my doubts.

As it happens I have my own devotions and form of prayers inspired from the writings of saints, one of them is a devotion to the rosary, another to the Sacred Heart.
After all, the church may gently encourage the practice of some approved devotions, but it doesn’t force or compel us.

Would you welcome Gloria Polo to your parish?

I find most of what she said fascinating. Some things are hard to understand, but that would seem reasonable considering the claim. I think she would at least deserve an explanation of things which we have trouble understanding.

Remember, no one is asking if she is a Saint. She had an experience which obviously compelled her to deep conversion and testimony. I would love to hear her testimony and faith.

No it does not its called Historical criticism. pius XII approved it in 1944 & The Second Vatican Council approved it. Modern Scholarship of the bible have come a long way
