What do we do when there are too many people on the planet?

Yes but that seems a micro event to me that can’t be transposed to the Earth as a whole. 🤨

Cape Town’s water problem isn’t necessarily due to overpopulation. Many of the issues were due to incompetence. There is a point where you will exceed capacity but we (the world) are far from it.
Skip to 7:00 unless you want to listen to the section titled ‘If it’s yellow let it mellow’. Don’t worry, it’s not as gross as it sounds, it just describes life there right now but it doesn’t explain why Cape Town is at this point. Skip to 17:30 if you don’t want to spend too much time on this.

Oh really? The population of Cape Town is 3.7 million today. It was 600,000 in 1950. More people need more water. Or do you say that even if the population increases by six times, the water usage is the same? It is not just Cape Town that is experiencing water shortages.

You should listen to that. Cape Town’s population grew substantially since 2000 but again, there’s a point where demand exceeds supply. That’s not necessarily the case for Cape Town right now. Not the case for the entire planet.

Water scarcity already affects every continent. Around 1.2 billion people, or almost one-fifth of the world’s population, live in areas of water scarcity See:

Then we should turn to the Gospels for the answer…

Mathew 25
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

How will that help the people of Capetown South Africa who are today under a severe drought?
If Christ was living in Cape Town, would we want to see him dying of thirst? If we truly recognise the people in Cape Town as being Christ, then we would find a solution.
