What do women like and dislike in a man and how do you tell if a girl is interested in you?

Thanks everyone for your replies, really thanks.

I’'ve read the wikihow article before. Yes it’s cute but a huge problem for me is my body language. I never smile for some reason. I hardly ever do smile and when I do it looks really fake. One of my lecturers told me to try smiling more but I don’t know how to do so or what I should exactly do.

Like: Bradley Cooper.

Dislike: Not Bradley Cooper.

More seriously, that’s not entirely true. I think my wife has a crush on Adam Levine, which is an unexplained phenomenon among women aged 35-50.

Everything else has probably been stated fairly substantially. Women like reliability, stability, confidence. But also, different things at different times in their lives. Younger women like fun, humor, and confidence.

How you know if a woman likes you? Beats me. I missed out on a lot of dating opportunities because the only ones who got through to me were the ones who hit me over the head with it.

A possible hint for women who like a man but have trouble getting him to notice her: you might try involving a mutual friend who knows him. Let that friend drop some hints as in “what do you think of [woman’s name]?” or something along those lines. Then see what kind of response comes back. If the man doesn’t pick up on the hints, there’s your answer. Or maybe he does like her, just needs more reassurance to approach her. Men can do this too. If nothing happens from it, face is still saved.

A woman who likes a man will make it easy for him to meet with her for dates and activities. Go to Mass together, go dancing together, etc… Returns his texts and phone calls. If I find a woman is not returning my calls or texts or if she keeps putting off dates or worse yet, canceling them, that’s a big flashing red hint that I should move on.

I went to a concert with a friend. The young woman who became my first real girlfriend happened to show up with one of her friends. She said ti was by “accident.” I believed her. 😊

I think women like their husbands to say “yes dear”.

😃
I actually would dislike that.

I did have sort of a boyfriend who was the westen type and when he liked something I did or said he said, “Yes, mam!” I would not mind hearing that again.👍

I’m not silly enough to offer opinions on what women want, but I will say this…

Marriage can, and should, last a long time…much too long to play pretend about who you are. So when dating, don’t pretend to be someone you are not. By all means try to be and to present the best version of yourself possible, but make sure you are always authentically yourself.

Probably because it’s unease and anxiety either way.
Yeah… I think that’s true for anyone, regardless of sex or orientation.

Also, I would like to point out that a lot of these “tricks” aren’t foolproof. For instance, I thought a girl was flirting with me, but it turns out she was just being friendly. (Still got an excuse to see the Lego Movie, though, even if she’s not looking for a relationship)

Yup. It basically comes down to a person thrown off the usual balance. So there’d be adapting, coping, fight or flight etc. Or denial. 😃

Sometimes even just-friendly girls still flirt, like the article says (it does say that).
Well, I think feet are a good indication. If someone likes you, their feet go in your direction. If they don’t, their feet face the door, for example.
Twisting their feet means they’re uneasy, while a girl sliding fer feet out of her shoes probably feels comfortable in you presence. However, I’m pretty sure feet could also convey a defensive reaction by someone shy or avoidant.

I learned this from one of the secretaries at work. Shortly after we hired a woman, the secretary noticed she had slipped off her shoes. She said, “Good. That means she’s comfortable here.”
