My husband and I are both lds (although I have a great interest in the Catholic Church and attended my first mass on Easter Sunday - a topic for another post). I have a protestant background and feel that the use of a cross is appropriate for a Christian. This doesn’t go over very well in the lds church. Last night my husband told me because its symbolism it was offensive, like somebody wearing a swatstika. Well, I kinda flipped out at that comparison. Can anybody provide very early church documentation of the use of the cross? Most lds believe that the cross wasn’t used until maybe the time of the council of Nicea, which then gets into the great apostosy.
Thanks.
Thanks.
