What do you guys think of hair extensions?

If you were looking for a spouse, would you be not be attracted to a girl because she has hair extensions? I’m thinking of getting some but I don’t want to appear “fake”.
 
I think they’re fine on African-American women but weird on white women, but that’s just me.

More importantly, don’t you have huge problems and better things to do with your money (like find a clean, safe place to live)?
 
Hair extensions can be really nice and pretty for a formal event. I’ve seen girls get hair extensions for their prom and they looked amazing.

Personally, I think they are totally unnecessary for everyday use. That’s just my opinion. I could find much better things to spend my money on. I’m fine with my monthly hair cut and style.
 
@xantippe, I wasn’t talking about getting them in the immediate future. Maybe around Christmas. I just like to plan things ahead. No need for cheap shots.

Yeah, that makes sense. I just miss my long hair but oh well, I’ll grow it back out.

Hmmm, well I’m African-American and German so it’ll look-half fine on me and half-weird. Haha, but all joking aside, there are so many white girls at my school who wear hair extensions and in my opinion it looks fine on both races 🙂

I am indeed turned off by fakery when I become aware of it. Though, I often do not notice cosmetic changes in women I find physically attractive. In terms of the physical, body shape and proportions are important to me. Hair length, natural color, and style are not very important to me. Personality is far more important to me than hair attributes. Hair extensions seem silly to me.

I shave my head every 3-4 weeks primarily for practicality. So, consider the source of these comments.

My daughter,a hair stylist wears extensions.I can’t tell the difference between the extensions and her own hair.She has been specially trained in her field to apply extensions.It is pretty costly and takes several hours.!yet she does do a fair amount of them.🙂
 
I don’t care either way, I probably don’t even notice whether a woman does/doesn’t have them, to be honest.

SO completely NOT below the belt…do a search for the OP’s posts just today alone and you might feel differently.
I know I did. I agreed with VeritasLuxMea at first, but NOT after I read all of the OP’s posts today.

We are here to help each other…and getting out of the viper pit that the OP is unfortunately living in is WAY more important than hair extensions or even what OTHER’S think of hair extensions…🤷
Perhaps the OP might use the funds that she is saving for hair extensions to pay for something more NECESSARY…like safe housing…away from the vipers she is required to live with because she doesn’t have the funds to house herself.
We ARE called to correct sinners…not judge them, but like Jesus, we must help them lovingly see the errors of their ways.
Worrying about what others think of hair extensions (which cost $$), when you apparently don’t have $ to pay for safe housing…should be a concern for the Christians around you. And the Christians around you have a RESPONSIBILITY to help you realize the error of your ways.

If you think you’ll like the way they’ll look on you, then go for it! Fashion should make you feel good about yourself first and foremost.
 
What’s most important is how YOU feel about getting extensions. I wear them, and I like the way I look with them.

The decision is yours.

It was below the belt and if you read it, my situation is concerning Summer. I’m here with my family on break but when I return to school, I won’t have to worry about funds for living. And I’ll start saving up when I return to school, because I have a job there. I have a full scholarship that pays for my undergrad years and will also pay for my medical school so the money that I make from my job I get to keep. I only came home this Summer because I decided not to do any internships and so I had no choice but to come home. Starting in December, I will start my stay at Cambridge for a year and I will not be returning home so therefore, I will not have to worry about finding a safe place to live. Let’s not be so quick to judge situations.
 
And the fact that you’re implying that I’m a sinner and need to see the error of my ways is absolutely wrong. I’m a sinner for being abused? Okay, let me go confess for nearly being killed when I was younger. How dare I commit such a sin.

I am Mexican and used a hair extension by Jessica Simpson. It was pretty cheap, 28 bucks on Amazon, and it looks real. I wore it and my husband nor kids even noticed. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing, lol.😃
 
@dailey, that’s a pretty good deal for them 🙂 I’ve found some pretty good sites that have great deals. I could never spend thousands for hair;) And let’s just say that it’s a good thing they didn’t notice haha
 
Jennifer Aniston claimed to have bobbed her hair a short while back to chop off the damage caused by extentions. Since she can afford the best, that doesn’t say much about extensions to me.
To each her own, however…
Or his, as the case may be…
