I was raised a JW. I don’t want them to leave me alone. I want them to examine their faith in the light of historical Christianity.

I think Henry Cardinal Newman was absolutely correct when he said, “To be steeped in history is to cease to be Protestant.”
Then you are a great tool for Christianity and what it really teaches. March on!

It might sound flippant but in all honesty ( and we get a LOT of JW’s coming to the door, at my business and at home, especially now that spring is fast approaching ) what I usually do is tuck my St.Anthony and Our Lady of Guadelupe medals in ( I’m Italian; we like medals) and cut the convo very short by saying, I’m sorry, I’m Orthodox Jewish, born and raised. It seems to stop them in their tracks every time. Once , at work, they said Well would you mind taking some of the literature anyway ? I said I have no use for it and asked where they were from again (even though I already know it’s the local “Kingdom Hall of JW” ) . They told me and I said, You know, that name you’re using , the one before Witness, is like 5,000 years old, and even* we * are forbidden to say it out loud like that. He had no answer whatsoever, just smiled and said thanks for your time. I said Thank you. And they left. I know it’s silly but it’s kind of fun to jerk peoples’ chains from time to time you know. 😃
