Not sure if it is “total garbage” when reporting outside their specialty, I would say something short of that. But I am sympathetic with them. This has been the longest defense of bad journalism, I’ve ever witnessed.
Lifesitenews is probably the best source for news regarding prolife issues, but total garbage when reporting about the Catholic Church, at large.
Nowadays the Unofficial Dogma in many Catholic circles is that abortion is 1 of 25 issues, so anyone who gives it more than 4% of their attention is by definition a fanatic, hostile, and cold-hearted to every other human concern. LSN suspects this dogma is held in many religious orders, dioceses, and among bureaucrats in the Vatican. They may be right about that. If so, that makes ME angry, too.
(Do you think we would have won World War II if there had been vigilantes in every town ready to denounce anyone as a maniac who said we should devote more than 4% of our work to the War effort?)
It is evil if LSN unfairly denounces people as villains. But that does not mean there are no villains in the Church, who make a living being courted and applauded by the secular media.
The hostile, angry, frustrated writers of LSN will never win awards from the Academy of Complacent Catholic Journalists. But as long as LSN is accurate in their specialty, read that, and skip the rest.
