So I can be a great catholic all my life, commit one mortal sin ,die and go to Hell for eternity but non-Catholics can disbelieve, ignore or twist God to their desires and zoom to Heaven no problem?

No. As a Catholic, you are required to follow Jesus’ teachings. (And, as He said, “to those to whom much has been given, much will be expected.”)

The teaching that non-Catholics and non-Christians may attain to heaven does not mean that they can know God is real and disbelieve, or twist God’s words, and then “zoom into heaven, no problem.” Read Lumen gentium, #15 and #16, and see what the Church teaches about how non-Catholics might be saved.

Reading a few of these posts made me think of one of the parables … can’t think of its name but the one about the labourers getting the same wages for doing fewer hours and less work, and also about Peter’s apparent jealousy over John, ‘Lord what about him?’ Even though they’re not really about this specific topic.

We should hope and pray for the salvation of others. Love of neighbour requires that much. The parable of the talents could be useful, here, if it helps… those who were more successful were rewarded more.
