No, David that name calling is just his personality and not because of the Neo. way.
I literally read this forum from the 1st post to the last and it took me close to two hours!
I think the N. Way is a excellent way to find the meaning of being a christian for THOSE who are astrayed from the True and Only Church. It is also very helpful for those who have been babtized under the church but want to become Catechumens. There also exsist the RCIA that is also part of our catholic church that leads to become Catechumens.
I was happy when the statutes were approved by the Holy See because that made it part of our Roman Church. This approval means that this charisma of the NCW can be used as a instrument by the Church as a form of evangalization.
I have seen too much smack talk in many replies, I invite everyone who is curious (whatever intentions the curiosity has) to read the statutes that outlines exactly what the NCW is about. Like this we won’t have any mumbo jumbo with “oh that person said this and that about this movement”.
I know it must be difficult for paritioners of a parish who aren’t in the Way to accept the NCW. But I, personally, wouldn’t mind a movement in my parish that heals marriages, creates families, shows the real mercy of God, and makes the person authentically believe in our Creed. Not saying that outside of this community one won’t believe in the Creed with their life but that for someone who’s life was living a life of misery, adultery, whatever the case, they can say that “I believe in One God…” and believing it from their hearts. And to really believe and feel with all my heart that God loves me for who I really am, is something that the church is doing through the NCW.
The truth is that there are many other ways under our all wise and knowing catholic church that one can walk towards and with Jesus Christ. The essence of the Neocatechumenal way is to bring the person to a adult faith that many of us, which includes me, do not have.
It’s easy talking the talk but harder walking it!
