good question, and thank you whammy for telling us about your Halloween ritual. I did not understand close the circle- but thats okay.

Where do you buy caldrons these days?
Often the term cauldron is meant to mean a bubbling pot, it is often a rystal bowl, a clay bowl or things like that.

Christ is the way, in answer to your question, most rituals are different, and there isn’t really one you do just for the sake of doing, like it has to be for healing, or Samhain or something. instead of regularly doing spells, we save the spells and light and insence to meditate.
Cya,

Its a VERY DANGEROUS religion. Come back to the Faith. Come Back to Jesus before your Soul is fully corrupted. 😦
Uhhhhhh, thanks. I guess. How is it dangerous. please don’t give me the cookie cutter responce ‘Because you are messing with the occult, the devil, you’re not with christ, etc.’ Infact most Wiccans draw their power from christ or God. My soul is NOT corrupted!!! I take offense to that!!

Define Christ for me.

I guess I was unclear. Let me explain:
a) Not all Witches are Wiccan, Therefore some are Catholic, and some draw their power from God, like Wiccans draw their power from the elements.
b) Some Wiccans believe in God, in a different way.

Which ones are the Catholic variety? I need more information and you are being too mysterious. Say it like it is already! What is the problem?
Talk!

Again- Define Christ the way you understand him to be-
IN DETAIL please!

OK, CALM DOWN DEEP BREATHS> IN OUT> IN OUT.
I guess that I define Christ to be a very Good person, Who Changed the world for the better. the religious variety still do magic, but in a diferent way, like, instead of saying:
‘Mighty Venus, I ask For Your power!’

They would say:
‘Mighty God, I ask for strength!’

A reminder:

Among the purposes of this forum is to educate those of other faiths about Catholicism and to be educated by those of other faiths about their faiths. That type of dialogue, discourse, discussion, and even debate, necessitates respectful, civil, and charitable exchange of the sort that marks polite society.

The OP has been civil and charitable in her posts. The expectation is that those participating in the thread will converse in like manner with her, in questions posed and responses made to her. Snide remarks and comments intended as put-downs are inappropriate and unacceptable.

Hello again Wammy. could you I just pick you up on the above statement. Christians believe that Jesus is the 2nd person of the Holy Trinity and is equal to His Father in His divinity. Your statement relegates Jesus to the status of a mere creature who happens to be a very good/enlightened person.

Now wouldn’t this be exactly the kind of thing Satan would wish us to believe? He is Christ’s arch enemy! If we believe that Jesus was just another good guy, why would be bother following him when we could just as easily follow Buddha or Paramahansa Yogananda or whomever we fancy. Again we’re being lead away from the true Shepherd.

This is why I assert that there is a satanic background to Wicca. Same goes for re-incarnation. Wicca might give us some kind of power but you have to ask where it comes from. What are you really tapping into when you invoke spirits other than God?

God bless,
Noel.

dear nKelly, I am gonna say it till it is noticed by some people. Satan hasn’t led me to Wicca. a book did. While you are well within your rights to stand up for your religion, Benig a Wiccan doesn’t strip me of my rights. I know where my power came from. My grandmother. I know exactly Who I am envoking, as it is only them and those who wish me well that I allow in my Circle. If I inadvertantly offended you by merely saying that Jesus was just a good person, I apologise, and wish to further explain:
I think that Jesus was and still is a good person, and that he is on a much higher status than us ‘mere humans’. hope it explains,

Those who go into Wicca are looking for ways to control their lives through magic. This is quite extreme, as they feel that they can actually control many elements that are naturally not in our hands to control. I was into Wicca for about a year or so awhile back, and to be able to do magic is something that can only be described as powerful. Those who’ve been in Wicca should probably know what I’m talking about. The ability to manipulate things and events, even if they are merely in your own perception and for only a fleeting moment, is something that one cannot find in most other religions, including Christianity. This is the thing that Wicca and the other neo-pagan religions offer. Is it dangerous? I cannot really say; I also believe that there are many things we do nto fully comprehend, and indeed what the mind can do, but that’s another topic.

It’s nice to speak to some-one who at least used to be a Wiccan. Just a question,:
Did you have a ‘Gift’? A Gift is a Magical ability of empathy And in Advanced cases, future sight. mostly it is handed generation to generation.

Maybe; it would help to understand that all of us have this “gift”. Some are aware of it; many aren’t. As Catholics, many are not aware of it, or if they are, think it’s strange or even evil. Like I said, though, this is not in line with the topic itself, and might be better discussed in another thread.

I understand, and agree. BTW, I love your signature!

You have to ask the question, who/what inspired the author of the book? Think about it!

No offence taken and I intend you no offence.

Let’s assume for a minute that Jesus is in fact God who became a God-man (fully human and fully divine). Because we believe in His divinity, we believe Jesus revealed to us the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth. Now Jesus taught that when we die, we are judged and merit either Heaven or Hell for all eternity. That immoral people cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. That Satan is a real enemy who beguiles and seduces us with his lies.

Along side this, we have several pagan religions and eastern religions etc telling us that there is no one God, that there are several paths to God. They teach us doctrines such as re-incarnation, self-realization (self divinity), that there’s no absolute truth, that personal morality is your own business etc. These all fly in the face of Christian teaching.

Paganism and Christianity can’t both be true because of the obvious conflicts. But which do you think is the safer “bet”?
Which is more likely to please God? If after we die, I turn out to be wrong, there’s no harm done. I can start over again.

If it turns out that you are wrong and that Jesus is in fact the Son of God and that you didn’t live in accordance with His teachings, then God help you! Do you see my point?

God bless,
Noel.

If I may explain, The author was enspired by, and I quote directly from the book;I learnt about magic in dew covered fieldslooking for mushrooms under tall gums when i was too young to go to school.the colours of the fields the scent from the silent trees and the mist spoke to me of a mystical power of healing and love that could not be seen with the eyes but with the heart.within this world life was rich, perfect and exciting.’
Not exactly satanism at its finest. Hope it explains,
About reincarnation, when you die, you are judged and given a life that is either a reward or punishment for your deeds thoughts and actions from the last life. this to is a system of judging, which i believe in.

Wammy, sorry, but I think you’re missing the point I’m making. Satan sugar-coats lies to make them appealing/seductive. The picture you painted above is just that. He’s like an abductor who entices children with colourful sweets and toys! You’ll only see his true colours until after it’s too late…

Am I making any sense to you? Could I be right? Can you really dismiss what I’m saying as nonsense? Remember that Satan (originally Lucifer) was the greatest angel in Heaven. He’s also very clever and a master of deception.

Sorry, I was having Dinner. I think that it is actually nature talking to her, not Satan. I am sorry if you feel that way.
