I was wondering what people wear around their necks. I don’t wear anything. I still have trouble getting used to wearing my wedding ring. I was never one for jewelry. Lately however I have been thinking about getting a scapula.
Hi
Why don’t you wear anything? Try some modern and simple jewellery …I think u looking good…

Being as I work construction I don’t wear to much jewelry but the one item I never leave home without is my Miraculous Medal:thumbsup:

I wear a CHWC cross(though i need to repair it), a Jerusalem Cross, a Saint Kolbe medal, and most recently a Crucifix. They never come off. The fact that I have to untangle them every so often serves as a constant reminder to me of what they stand for.

I wear the Jerusalem cross which I bought in the Holy Land. It represents the 3 main religions of the Holy Land, which we pray may one day be one. It is green and made in a most unusal shape.
I also wear the Scapula, with devotion to our Blessed Mother.

May I wish you all a very Happy and Holy New Year, which with many prayers will hopefully bring peace and stability to our very troubed world.

God Bless 🙂

It depends. I usually wear a Simple Gold Crucifix with a Silver Corpus (Which my Grandma Gave me), although the silver is wearing off, and/or a Pewter model of Pope Benedict’s papal Crucifix.
Sometimes I wear a Miraculous Medal or a St. Anthony medal. (My Confirmation saint)

I change it out every day! I recently got a St. Benedict’s Crucifix and I love it. It’s like a rapper chain except so much better. I also have many saints medals, a 4 way medal, a disciple’s cross, a cross from a retreat I went to, and many dainty “dressy” women’s crosses for wearing with nice evening outfits. A relitave of mine makes jewlery, so she made me some fashionable necklaces with holy medals 🙂

It changes. Currently a very nice old medal of St. Paul (done by an artist…)

I wear my glasses around my neck, and on my face and in my hair. I used to wear one of a nice collection of crosses and crucifixes, but at work I wear a head set and the glasses, and it was just getting too crowded. I got the glasses chain and the cross’s chain tangled up a couple times, and decided to stop breaking the chains.

This is really an old thread! Cool.

I’m a pretty physically active guy and I find anything around my neck or any jewellery at all a hassle. I got some nice old family rings I inherited and can’t wear them either.

I tried to wear an old crucifix and Miraculous medal as one aspect of ‘witness’ but in the end they were driving me nuts… even at night… so off they came. I try and make up for them in my prayer life.

Here’s a thought. I have a St. Benedict Medal key chain. I even got it blessed. 🙂

As a Secular Franciscan, I wear the TAU, the visible sign of our Order. I received it when I was admitted as novice (candidate).

For St. Francis, the TAU was a program of penance, following in the footsteps of Our Lord Jesus Christ and a symbol of a mission of renewal within oneself and the Church. It was a sign of the glory shared with the risen Lord that gave Francis confidence in the face of all difficulties.

In Christ,

I wear both a crucifix, and a brown scapular.

The weird thing for me is that I’m allergic to all metals. I can’t even wear my white gold wedding ring without breaking out in a rash after about 20 minutes, but the one thing I have never ever had a problem with is my Crucifix & the chain that it’s on. Everything else causes extreme irritation.

Go figure… 😃

I wear my chins around my neck. And occasionally my halo too, when it slips and becomes more of a noose instead 😦

Hi Erin Anne, 👋
Normally, I wear a St. Anthony and a miraculous medal. I also wear a crucifix, and soon to be, a Dominican scapular.
If your having trouble getting used to wearing jewlry, than a scapular is good, being that you wear it in reverence for our blessed Mother. Their light and you’ll probably won’t even know it’s there. 🙂
Gods’ peace to you…

James 😃

:tiphat:

I wear a crucifix and a St. Dymphna medal on a sterling chain. For some reason, my crucifix has been “jumping” off my chain - Not a good sign, lol!
