One more conclusion:Hi Howie,
I am sorry that my posts are above your level of understanding. I did not know this fact. However, I do not write for just your benefit alone and hopefully others have profited from my posts.
Since this is a Sacred Scripture forum, how is it that you expect teaching which is not also backed up by Scripture? Perhaps you should join a forum for persons who only want to spout their own âopinionsâ with no Scriptural proofs.
If you continue with this forum, then from now on, I will only give you a few Scriptures at a time so that you will be able to comprehend them.
1 Corinthians 10:10-13 âNeither should ye murmur, as some of them also murmured â and were destroyed by the destroyer. 11Now all these things happened unto them by way of example, and are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12Therefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall. 13There hath no temptation taken hold of you but such as is common to man. But God is faithful; He will not suffer you to be tempted beyond that which ye are able to bear, but with the temptation will also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.â
1 Timothy 3:6-7 âHe must not be a novice in the faith,** lest being lifted up with pride, he fall into the condemnation of the devil**. 7 Moreover he must have a good reputation with those who are outsiders, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.â
2 Peter 3:17 âYe therefore, beloved, seeing that ye know these things beforehand, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.â
Hebrews 4:11 âLet us labor (work) therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall according to the same example of unbelief.â
Conclusions:
Pax,
- Pride comes before a fall.
- If you fall, you are no longer saved.
- We must labor (work) in order to be able to enter into our rest.
SHW
- If I fail to work in order to enter my rest, then I am but another âexampleâ of âunbelief;â I am just the same as those who do not believe because I will receive the same punishment as these unbelievers.
2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 âwhen the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destructionâ
The punishment is âeverlasting destruction in flaming fireâ or in another word: hell.
Pax,
