What does the catechism of the Catholic church teach? Isn’t the CC authoritive on how Catholics are to view Islam? From my understanding… they do not believe in the same God as Christians.
They do not believe in the God of Abraham. Its not the same kind of thinking as disagreements among different Christian faiths or even Jews.
So in reading quotes from the koran… keep this in mind.
If I am wrong… please correct me.
I am not sure what it says. What does the catechism of the Catholic church teach? Isn’t the CC authoritive on how Catholics are to view Islam?
They are the same God spoken of in the Bible and the Qur’an. Different understandings of the same God…but the same God none the less.I am not sure what it says.
I was just concerned that Big D, describing himself as ‘doubting’ would read both the Bible and the koran and think it was the same God.
I wasnt trying to start a problem… just concerned a 'doubting ’ person would be more confused.
Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god;- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to Allah! (High is He) above the partners they attribute to Him. … Al-Qur’an 059.023does anyone know, any quotes?

How can that be when Christian God sent His son to die on the Cross, where as Muslim Allah denies the very thing? They are the same God spoken of in the Bible and the Qur’an. Different understandings of the same God…but the same God none the less.
I can answer it as a Friend…but you’ll need to turn to your teaching magisterium and the catechism of you faith tradition to find you answers. It seems to me your church holds a different view concerning the topic than do you.How can that be when Christian God sent His son to die on the Cross, where as Muslim Allah denies the very thing?

How can this be?There are lots of passages appreciating Jesus, but Muslims regard him as a Prophet and reject claims that he was God. Jews do not even accept him as a Prophet.
Muslims and Christians believe in the same God, regardless of differences we have about His nature.
Following this logic Jews also worship a different god, since they reject all of this as well. But Jesus was a Jew, so do Christians worship a different God than Jesus did? Arguing that Muslims worship a different god to Christians because we don’t accept your beliefs about Jesus Christ creates theological mayhem. How can this be?
Jesus Christ is the center of Christianity. Without Him there wouldn’t be any Christians. Without His death on the cross and resurrection as atonement for our sins our faith would be worthless.
The case of Christ being either God or a prophet of Allah is not just a minor detail. This is a clear distinction between Allah and God.
Jesus fulfilled the Law. Jesus believed in the same God and prayed to the same God Jews believe in and pray to. The God of the Bible however cannot be Allah.Following this logic Jews also worship a different god, since they reject all of this as well. But Jesus was a Jew, so do Christians worship a different God than Jesus did? *Allah *is just the Arabic word for God, it’s doesn’t mean the “Muslim God” Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews use the word too.
It is He Who has created hearing, sight and hearts for you. What little thanks you show!does anyone know, any quotes?
