I think it’s great that you wrote them once you became aware of them. I am hesitant to give people free press, though.

It’s a tricky thing to balance, I think, and I am not advocating never taking action. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Some things really do go away more quickly if they are ignored. But some things don’t.

With this, it sounds like an internet-based business, so linking back to them only helps them increase their visibility via all the search engine metrics. And there are a number of forum posters and lurkers who would click on the link just out of curiosity (thereby increasing their traffic). That’s why I said I was glad the link was no longer in your OP. If others would like to write them letters, I support their efforts to stand up for the faith.

I guess then the question would be what is more important? To give them traffic or protest and see if it taken down. I am struggling with understanding that line of thinking but like I said, to each his/her own. A good number of us must have written yesterday as it was taken down and for that, I’m grateful. There are still 3/4 of very questionable taste about Jesus but the one on Mother Mary crossed all sorts of lines. I have zero regrets about alerting people and writing them. Maybe if we were just as vocal as other sectors that get what they want, people would be more careful with us.
