I know a Catholic friend who is neutral on Homosexual marriages.
Let me rephrase my question. If a Catholic is neutral on homosexual “marriages”, does he sin? My Catholic friend is neutral on Homosexual marriages.I know a Catholic friend who is neutral on Homosexual marriages.
same sex “marriage” is a pretty intense topic, I find it difficult to believe that this person is truly neutral. either they lack the ability to self-analyze or are afraid to state or arrive at the answer. perhaps a few specific questions could help you and your friend.Let me rephrase my question. The best is to ask a real priest.same sex “marriage” is a pretty intense topic, I find it difficult to believe that this person is truly neutral. either they lack the ability to self-analyze or are afraid to state or arrive at the answer. perhaps a few specific questions could help you and your friend.
btw, “I don’t care what they do as long as they don’t do it in front of me” is NOT a neutral stance.
My understanding is that Catholics are required to give full assent of faith to the Church’s moral teachings.Let me rephrase my question. If a Catholic is neutral on homosexual “marriages”, does he sin? My Catholic friend is neutral on Homosexual marriages.
Nothing happens. If your friend is a true practicing Catholic who in knowledgable about The Faith, he knows that by making such statements publicly he is committing a Mortal Sin. However, I think, perhaps, that he is messing with your mind!I know a Catholic friend who is neutral on Homosexual marriages.

Neutral? As in not taking a stand when the sanctity of marriage is questioned?Let me rephrase my question. If a Catholic is neutral on homosexual “marriages”, does he sin? My Catholic friend is neutral on Homosexual marriages.
You can’t be Catholic and be pro-choice nor for homosexual marriage.Let me rephrase my question. If a Catholic is neutral on homosexual “marriages”, does he sin? My Catholic friend is neutral on Homosexual marriages.
That seems to be correct, yes.So Catholics must be opposed to homosexual “marriages” no matter what?
Let’s pull that thread. Under what circumstances could you possibly see the Church’s approving them?So Catholics must be opposed to homosexual “marriages” no matter what?
You can’t say someone who disagrees with Church teachings is not a Catholic. You can say he’s a Catholic who is inconsistent with Catholicism. Unless he is excommunicated, he is still a Catholic. Let’s not elevate ourselves above our positions. You can’t be Catholic and be pro-choice nor for homosexual marriage.
Quite the contrary, you are placing yourself above your position. My info comes from Priests , quoting their knowledge of these subjects. You can’t say someone who disagrees with Church teachings is not a Catholic. Christ gave the answer.I know a Catholic friend who is neutral on Homosexual marriages.
So you’re saying a person baptised as a Catholic stops being Catholic when he disagrees with a Church teaching or sins?Quite the contrary, you are placing yourself above your position. My info comes from Priests , quoting their knowledge of these subjects.
Good day.
Ok, some practical advice then. You vote against same sex marriage but agree to accept whatever the government passes as law. Are you complicit if your state allows SSM? If yes, should you start a revolt?Christ gave the answer.
If you are neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm… I will spit you out of my mouth.
A Catholic cannot be “neutral” on such an issue. It is a moral Truth.
Same thing that would allow the Church to ordain women as priests: a review and rejection of the Church’s current teaching on the nature and significance of human sexuality.Let’s pull that thread. Under what circumstances could you possibly see the Church’s approving them?
The essential public purpose of marriage is to attach mothers and fathers to their children and one another for the benefit of the children and society.I know a Catholic friend who is neutral on Homosexual marriages.
