We used to be able to hang clothes on a line outside.

Here in the suburbs, you are not allowed clothes lines. You can however, install solar panels on your house to use the suns energy to power your electric dryer, lol.

HAHAHAHAHA. My mother made that homemade beef jerky on the clothes line in the high desert. Covered the line with cheesecloth, draped the strips of venison and green chiles over it, another layer of cheesecloth to keep the birds from stealing it, and 2 days later??? Jerky!

I have vivid memories of mama ironing sheet off the clothes line. Ugh. They smelled good though. 😉
 
Yes, barely salted. Was delicious. During power outages, she would put it in water and add canned stewed tomatoes and fresh onions & potatoes and make a hearty soup in the fireplace.

I have always found staff in all places in my many years in Ireland polite and helpful in the extreme.
 
Everything has changed. I was in town today and was thinking that I just do not belong in this era.
