What I like about the Church

I love the moment after I genuflect as I’m leaving and right before I turn and walk away where I quietly whisper I love you to Jesus in the tabernacle. I love the presence of Jesus in the tabernacle in general! 😃
 
hands down, Jesus in the Eucharist

My son received Jesus for the first time Saturday and I marveled again at explaining to him that I AM is giving Himself to you for your nourishment :cool:
 
I love the feeling of peace and contentment that I feel once I walk into church. Also I like hearing the Gospel everyweek it doesn’t matter how much I have on my mind when the Priest starts to speak the Gospel everything else in my mind stops and I can just take in everything he says.
 
I love being able to go to Mass everyday and receive communion. I love being able to follow the Mass no matter where in the world I am. I love the hard working, dedicated priests. I love that the church teaches love of neighbor among many other things.
 
I heard this tonight on EWTN…it makes a lot of sense…The church shows me how to live a life pleasing to God and to man
 
I’m a cradle Catholic and started 4 years ago at 60 reading more about the Catholic faith. I just recently experienced a wonderful moment while in the hospital following a heart issue. Before my surgery the Priest came in to pray with me and to give me the Sacrament of the sick, used to be called the “Last Rights” and I’m glad they don’t call it that anymore. During the prayers I just started crying. I couldn’t help it. Yes it was scary to realize the position I was in but It was also a wonderful moment. I feel sad for non-catholics who during those scary moments of life don’t have the opportunity to experience what I felt because of this Sacrament. To be blessed, anointed and to have my sins forgiven by a representative of Christ on earth was a powerful momet.

Confession is also a very powerful Sacrament but the anointing of the sick only comes to you at those fragile moments in life and it had quite a different meaning at least to me.
 
Everything! I love everything about our Church, especially the Holy Eucharist. I thank God for the privilege of being born into a Roman Catholic family. If more people would come to know Jesus in this Holy Sacrament, we wouldn’t have enough Adoration Chapels to hold them all. Thanks Deacon Ed!

Because I came from an Evangelical background, and you could never really know for sure…

So, the Magisterium and the Papa.

This is an extremely astute observation. It pains me to say how many cafeteria Catholics I have heard say that they believe what they want to and no one or no “thing” is going to tell them what to believe. Yet they profess to be Catholic. We can only pray for them.

I like His Holiness Pope Pius XII, who saved my (Jewish) grandfather’s life, as well as the lives of at least 799,999 other Jews. Without His Holiness, I would not exist. 👍
