What I love about Protestants/Catholics...

What I love about Protestants:

Jehovah’s Witnesses evangelizing.

Baptist praising.

Gospel singing.

Mainstream closeness to Catholicism.

Evangelicals mobilization for political issues.

Reverance for theological knowledge of Scripture.

The things we agree on (anti-abortion, charitable works, God “back” in school, etc…).

Devoutness of faith.

Incredible educational outreach for children.

Alternative Christian centered activities.
 
I admire your positive outlook. 🙂

Even as an outside observer I am tired of seeing christians fighting among each other.
 
I admire the Protestants love for the Scriptures. I just hope they know that need to interpret Scripture correctly and become Catholic.

Like I said before when Jesus comes, everyone will be Catholic.
 
I admire protestants for their creativity and hard work.

I admire catholics for their culture and unity.

I admire both for their great contributions in making this world a better place. 🙂

I admire the devotion to Jesus that I see in the Protestants that I know. I also admire the fact that they tend to be more involved.

I love the Catholic richness of traditions and depth of writings.

What I love about agnostics/atheists (I’m making an educated guess that you aren’t Christian based on your username 😉 though this applies to Protestants as well) …

they challenge us to thoroughly examine what we believe and why. To ‘test all things and hold to that which is good’ as St Paul says.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are not Protestants. They are an Arian based cult. There is not a Protestant that has ever considered JW’s Protestant. Protestants are Christians, JW’s (and Mormons) are not. The Catholic Church doesn’t consider JW’s protestants either.

Well, I’m not exactly innocent of the fighting scene here, but if you read my disclaimer, you would have an even better idea of how I feel for Christians who are not Catholics that love Catholics.

Well, they aleady know that they need an interpreter…they call him “pastor”. 😃

Like I said before, everybody will believe in Mary when they see her next to Jesus in heaven, “then” become Catholic!

Has anyone besides me ever noticed how devout Catholics and devout Protestants have the same happy demeanor?

It’s the anti-Catholics and the anti-Protestants who seem to be the most miserable sorts.

How can you tell a great Protestant apart from a great Catholic?

Answser: You can’t.

What I love about athiest/agnostics is that when their good, their good for the sake of being good without expectation of reward…truly Christian indeed.

Yeah, but I like their evangelization still.

You’re right, they aren’t Christians or Protestants.

However, if I am to love my enemy, how am I to love someone who wishes me no harm?

  • We argue/debate but then majority still see each other as “Brothers in Christ”.

Neither Protestant’s or Catholic’s know how to interpret scripture.
People who let churches interpret scripture for them are usually misled into believing lies. They are all biased.

When Jesus returns, Protestantism and Catholicism will be abolished!

-Their faith has so many avenues of worship…sacraments, sacramentals, devotions, intercessions…
-Their churches are often beautiful, with stained glass and artwork.
-They are very loving and accepting.
-Even if you don’t know the order of their services, they have a book that tells you step-by-step.
-Every church in every location is praying the same prayers and reading the same scriptures on any given day.

That’s why I posted this thread…sometimes, we see things in each other’s faiths from “other” eyes and can verbalize something that we may take for granted in such beautiful terms.

I hope that my words about Protestants may make some see the beautiful things in their own faith or in the faiths of other Protestants.

Argueing with protestants at work caused me to learn more about my faith. I had to study so I could have an intelligent discussion.
