I’m an ex-ex-Catholic BTW. FWIW
That’s where the term comes from. Even in the broadest sense, it refers loosely to those traditions who have their roots in the various movements collectively known as the Reformation in Central Europe. The Anglicans were obviously not part of the Holy Roman Empire.JonNC:
Is this the “standard” for being protestant?Thom18:
Simply not true. Anglicans are not, by definition, Protestant. They were not part of the formal protest at Speyer.By definition, if you’re a Christian but neither Catholic nor Orthodox, you are a protestant.
Who says? It seems to me the OP gets to say what he is.If you were baptised Catholic, you are canonically Catholic.
But if you are now a non-Catholic, non-Orthodox Christian, then you’re Protestant.
He sure does but he IS asking as if he doesn’t know.Who says? It seems to me the OP gets to say what he is.
In that case my opinion is - whatever your opinion is.i know what iam in my opinion but i really wanted to see the opinions of others
so yeah you are rigth
I understand. I just think it’s an inaccurate answer.JonNC:
