What if, god talked to me, and i went to a priest but he said that it couldn’t be the voice of god. How come in the past people had god talked to them and show them things and they were believed but if god says something that is not inline with the catholic faith that person is crazy? Why does everyone believe insert visionary saint here but not me?
The Holy Spirit speaks through the Catholic Church and has done so for 2,000 years.

If any voice contradict dogma then it would have to be looked at with great skepticism. That does not mean, IMO, that the Holy Spirit would not speak against abuses in the litugy or the sacraments however.

The Blessed Mother at Fatima has warned the world in her messages to Lucia, Jacinta, Antonio.

In the Old Testament, when Moses was spoken to from the “Burning Bush,” it was the Holy Spirit…it, no doubt, has a mission for the person who is “spoken to.”

when I was reading the Case For Christ and faith it was stated by at theologian that there are no contridictions in the bible for a intellectually honest person. Thats a quote not my thoughts. Maybe check out what the ones who study actually say. The rest is urban legend.

Just like the stereotypes we propagate against the churches. The truth is generally more boring.

🙂

sooo you dont want to talk to anyone just figure it out on your own because you cant trust anyone??

Not exactly. The problem is I find a wide rang of opinions regarding faith. Clearly they cannot all be correct, yet no one will accept that they are not correct in their individual faith. I also find that people almost always are simply relating what someone else has told them. They pass the buck when asked for evidence.

God’s word is just too complex for my little mind to understand? I need someone to interpret for me?

If God feels his plan for me is very important for me to understand, then why didn’t he make it easier to understand? I suppose you are going to tell me that he has. I’m just not listening. Right?
Let’s see now…God gave us an intellect for a purpose…so where does that take us if we change our focus from scripture to other less significant topics:

If God feels that it is important for man to understand nature, then why did he make biology and chemistry so complex and difficult?

If God feels that it is important that we heal one another when we are sick, then why did he make it necessary for us to go to medical school?

If God wants us to study and understand the universe, than why are astrophysics and mathematics so difficult?

The truth is that God gave us all kinds of things to learn and think about and some are simply deeper subjects than others. If we never had to stretch our minds we would become board and intellectually lazy. Clearly, spiritual things can be a bit challenging. It has to be this way because the differance between us and God is so enormous.

Scripture is God speaking to us in the language of men. There is as much poetry and art in God’s word as there is simple prose. This is one of the things that makes it so interesting and beautiful. Scripture is like an incredibly grand tapestry. Every color and strand within it makes up a lofty and inexhaustible picture for us to ponder. It is not a simple “connect the dots” drawing along 15 line segments. It is instead, like a vast ocean that beckons us to plunge into its inexhaustible depths.

I hope this helps.

I sympathize with how you feel as I too speak with God and are taught by Him directly. I attempted suicide not long ago and would have died but whilst dying I saw God and He spoke to me. He showed me His Heart - the glorious, beautiful, ineffably love-filled Heart of God. Till this day I see with vivid memory the light and glory of such a sight and His sacred Hands outstretched to me with absolute compassion, holding me and ever so determined to not let me go - so much love! My God I could die just thinking of it - and you would too if you could see how much God Loves.

Yet when I speak of this (particularly to Christians) I am and have been called a demoniac, deceived by Satan (as if the Love and Glory I saw was satan … yeah right  ) , a person treading a dangerous path on the way to hell.

Or they say I hallucinated because as a sinful and unrepentant person who had attempted to suicide, I had spat on God and there is no way God would reveal anything to me because I am not a saint. This is what they say … but God gave me and showed me His Heart! This sinful, awful, damned, hellbound uglygal was granted the privilege to see His Heart!

The irony in this astounds me.

I think many people who judge you and condemn you may be in for a surprise when they cross beyond the veil 😃 and I can’t wait to see their faces 😛 when they see the little ones, the nobodys, the disposable ones all gathered around the Throne of God whilst the learned, the mighty and the holier than thou stand in the background.

God Is Love. :heaven: Anything contrary to this is not of God

Love Him and Trust Him 🙂 ❤️

Why are you so angry?

Nothing about what I said to you was meant to be hurtful in any way shape or form and yet you are clearly hurt.

The bible is very complex and so I never assume that just by reading it once I understand it. Personally I seek out help. I thought that would help you too.

I don’t what else to say.

What a beautiful experience…thank you for sharing it. I personally see no reason to doubt your vision. May this and all of God’s blessings sustain you on your Christian walk. If we only knew how much God really loves us we would be much different than the way we are.

Thank you for the blessing which is the sharing of this experience.

Yours in Christ Jesus Crucified,

Pax
