I am not exactly sure myself. I didn’t know much about Catholicism until some interesting talks last year with a group of Catholics and ex-Catholics. I hadn’t known how different Catholicism was from the other Protestant churches I have been a part of. Learning and comparing has challenged me and has grown my faith. I want to continue to learn and be challenged is probably the best answer I can think of.
My friend, the Holy Spirit has led you to the right path:)

There is much good here on CAF! I do caution you though that not everyone calling themselves "Catholics here; are in fact, INFORMED and practicing, so be careful and insist on evidence of there positions.

Pray much for continued guidance!

God Bless you,
Patrick

So FRIEND,

If you would like to talk in private, please send me a private message.

I’m a retired trained Catholic Catechist with loads of experience sharing our faith.

What you’re doing is courageous and right!👍

Pay Much!

I’m adding you to my daily prayer list too

God Bless you and keep you safe!

Patrick [PJM] here on CAF
Thanks PJM. That’s pretty cool for you to do that. 🙂

I lurked for some time before joining. I wanted an active online community where discussion of all topics came through a Christian and/or Catholic lens. I have studied religion pretty intensely for most of my life and I consider myself more Catholic than not. I have quite a few Catholic friends IRL, so it was a natural extension of that that led me here. 🙂

Listened to Catholic Answers on the radio as a protestant and that’s how i found out about the site.

Lurked for a while because it was shut down for new members…wouldn’t let me register.

Tried again at the start of Lent and lo and behold, it finally allowed me to register! Hence, the LA username.

I think no matter if you are Catholic or non-Catholic, this is a much better use of our time than most other options out there.

Glad to interact with so many wonderful Christians here.

I come here to learn more about Catholicism. I want to minister to christians more effectively, so I have to learn about what they believe. I also want to dispel certain stereotypes about muslims. I am not your enemy, nor are you my enemy.

Awesome!👍

As a FYI,

I offer a TOTALLY FREE OF ALL COST home study course called: BUILDING BLOCKS OF OUR CATHOLIC FAITH

1 Lesson is E-mailed each week.

I also answer ALL faith related questions.

II am a trained, certified Catholic Catechist with over 20 years of faith sharing experience.,

The only thing I know about your faith is that we BOTH hold Abraham in high-esteem and that if I am correct, there are two major branches of it.?

Blessings,

Patrick [PJM] here on CAF

THANK YOU!

May I asked just what prompted you to leave the CC?

God Bless you,

Patrick
You may ask…

But I won’t get into it as it’s off topic and would take far too long of a post 😉

Maybe I’ll write a book some day.

Yes, that’s correct. He’s mentioned dozens of times in the Qur’an.

There’s Sunnism, Shiism and some consider Sufism to be a denomination [and some don’t]. There’s 2.5 denominations of Islam. 😛

I’m the OP, just HOW is “it off topic”🤷

God Bless you,

Patrick
Because the reasons I left the Catholic Church are almost entirely off of the topic you presented in the OP.

Thank you for your kind consideration.

IF you’d care to discuss it, please send me a private message

God Bless you

Hello Patrick,

I’m not exactly sure whether I am a Catholic or not anymore. I find this a useful site to hear what people who are quite sure of their Catholic faith think. I suppose I find it quite a useful yard-stick in seeing how far I have drifted away from ‘Conservative Catholic’ beliefs (and I don’t mean that pejoratively).

May you be well.

Michael

I have been here for a couple years, off and on. I come to ask questions, as discussing religion (especially the prospect of changing ones religion) is opening a can of worms in my family. The folks here are friendly, and lead me in the right direction, so I just keep coming back!
