What if someone puts a clause in a EULA that states "You agree to sell your soul?"

I hope I’m not going into the legal department here 🤷 but I was looking at some older posts when someone made a comment on why we should always read the EULAs -even if it’s not sinful to not read them as long as we agree with them.

Apparently, some companies have put “I agree to also sell my soul to this company” inside their EULAs. Does that mean, if I didn’t read a license agreement but still agreed to it and there was a clause stating I would sell my soul to a company, I’d still be liable for it? I don’t know if I’ve ever encountered a license stating this, but still. It’s a scary thought.

By the way, I’m talking about the little “I agree to the terms and conditions” agreements when signing up for something.
 
Forget about it! This is fringe/cult paranoia. The selling, or giving of your soul must be done deliberately, and with purpose, as with all sin.

Review the requirements of mortal sin:
  1. It must objectively be grave (serious) matter. Selling you soul? Oh, yes.
  2. You must know that it is grave matter. This requires knowledge and thought on your part.
  3. You must then consent by the force of your will to this act of selling your soul.
Careful on the web - there are many who claim the title of Christian, but who make up their own rules. Which spirit guides them? Who knows?
 
I would talk to an IRS agent and see if you can get them to cut a deal with the company since I’m willing to bet they didn’t claim all these souls on their tax returns.
