🙂 Hello, Glad to hear from you. I feel the Holy Spirit lives in our heart’s and his church is everywhere.I do understand what you are talking about, and I see your point. You feel there is only one church and it’s Catholic, and I feel it’s one Holy Siprit and Universal, like the bible. The bible is a" Universal Book"with a message for the whole world, but it will only help you when you apply it’s teaching to your life. It is much like medicine. It may look nice on the shelf, but it will not heal until you take it for yourself.Take the advice of the psalmist,“Wherewithal shall the Word of God(Bible) will cleanse you from sin when applied to your heart and life. In John:15:3 Jesus also had something to say about being clean.” Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you" The big picture is God is everywhere, and dwell’s amongst his people.Yes you and me,weare all his children.we should be gathering those who have no belief to God,but not our brother’s and sister’s in Christ.
Yes God does dwell everywhere, including in the hearts of those Christians who are not Catholic, as is the teaching of the Catholic Church.

And we should actively gather those who have never heard of Christ, but that does not mean we should stop correcting our brothers and sisters in Christ also. We would not have much of our New Testament if Paul had decided he didn’t need to correct those who already knew Christ.
Now do you think we are living in the last day’s.and what can we do as people in Christ to prepare others for the coming flood? love of Christ Nancy Luke:17:27,rEV:19:20
Yes, we are living in the last days, but I am not sure I define that the same way as you. I am defining as Paul did, telling us we are living in the last days. So far, it has lasted 2000 years or so.

As for what we can do, we need to live our faith. That simple. Do whatever God has called us to do. If I am called to be a mother, I need to raise Godly Children. If I am called to prison ministry, I need to faithfully minister to those in prison.

Faith working in love. In that way, the light of Christ will shine brightly through us and many more may come to be followers of Christ.

Your sister in Christ,
Maria

No, not at all. If I for some reason were to think that just because it has been 2000 years, that Jesus is going to be 2000 more, it would be, but I don’t. I believe Jesus is coming soon. I just don’t know if my definition of soon is the same as Christ’s so I need to make sure my lamp has oil and not be caught filling it up when He returns.
As far as Rev:11:7b Who do you think the two prophets are? nancy
I don’t honestly know. I haven’t researched it enough.

I did like this article and you may too.
**Apocalypse NOT from This Rock by James Akin
**One of the most overlooked signs that the Second Coming is approaching is the corporate conversion of the Jewish people. This is something that Paul is very clear about. In Romans 11, he sketches a paradigm according to which, after the First Coming of Christ, the Jewish people as a body (though not every individual) rejected the Messiah, that the gospel might turn and bring salvation to the Gentiles. However, when “the full number of the Gentiles [has] come in,” the gospel will turn back to the Jewish people and as a body they will accept the Messiah.

There is another way to think of the book of Revelation. The early Church believed that scripture was fulfilled, and that fulfillment then pointed to Christ’s second coming at the end of time. They understood the two witnesses to be the Law and the Prophets, symbolized by Moses and Elijah. 11:8 specifically points out that this is alegorical.

The Law and the Prophets were killed by the beast when biblical Judaism was destroyed by the Roman army in 70 A.D. As long as the Temple stood, the Mosaic system witnessed against the paganism of the Romans and the unfaithful among the Jews. So, when the Temple was destroyed the world thought that the witnesses were silenced. But they came back to life in the New Covenant and the Church.

The early Church used the Jewish Law and Prophets of the Old Testament (Scipture) to point people to Christ and bear witness to God’s truth (Before and after the fall of the Temple).

hi 🙂
well i’m sure there’s folks more knowledgeable about this than i am, but i believe there’s schools of thought that when john penned the revelation, he was talking in ‘code’ about present day problems and solutions (HIS present day, not ours) … that’s what i understand to be the ‘nutshell version’ anyway 😉 but the things i see today and for the last several years lead me to believe that our Lady will be having a pretty rough time holding back the Hand of our Lord if we don’t get out act together soon down here … He is merciful and loving … YES! … but He is also JUST.
i think of how injustices and atrocities here hurt me … i’m imperfect, sinful and yet things that i see around me can rip my heart out … how much MORE must these things hurt our Dear Lord who is PERFECT??? He’s gone through so much already … . and we make Him suffer more … and this country that was founded as one nation under GOD … we wonder why so many things are happening here now? … hmmm … could it be cuz we’re constantly slapping our Protector in His FACE???
…oh it just gets me so ANGRY … the stupidity of politics and ignorance of the proud … makes us all slowly boiled FROGS! grrrrrrrrrrrr

Yes, they do talk about the end, but not only about Christ’s second coming. There was a period of covenental transition between the beginning of the New Covenant and the end of the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant ended (for all the world to see) when the Temple was destroyed in 70 A.D.

Look at (Luke 21:5-33) particularly verses 6-7, and you’ll notice that it speaks about the destruction of the Temple with no mention of Christ’s second coming. **“All that you see here–the days will come when there will not be left a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.” Then they asked him, “Teacher, when will this happen? And what sign will there be when all these things are about to happen?” **

And in (Mat 24:34) Jesus says “This generation will not pass away till all these things take place.” Christ’s judgment of the Temple (which was a miniature version of the heaven’s and earth) was a prefigurement of His judgment and the end of time.

(Micah 3:12) and (Jeremiah 26:28) predicted the destruction of the Babylonian conquest. Jesus elaborated on that event and gave a prophetic message pointing to the Roman destruction. The Jewish Talmud also understood the defeat at the hand of Titus to be the final fulfillment of (Micah 3:12). For Chirstians though, the events of 70 A.D. became prophetic in regards to Christ’s second coming and the end of the world also.

So, Eusebius (the 4th century Church historian) could speak about Mat 24 and say “All this occurred in this manner, in the second year of reign of Vespasian, according to the predictions of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ” (Ecclesiastical History III:7). Yet he also still firmly believe in the future second coming of Christ. In other words, these are not mutually exclusive beliefs.
How come everybody seems to be waiting for the Anti-Christ? what about the thousand year reign of Christ?Who said REV.has already happened? God Bless Nancy
The Catholic church believes the millennium is the period of Christ’s rule in heaven and on earth through His Church (Amillennialism). This is because the saints who reign with Christ and to whom judgment has been committed are said to be on their thrones in heaven. (Rev 20:4; cf. 4:4; 11:16). During this time, satan is bound and cannot hinder the spread of the gospel. (Rev 20:3). This is why, they explain, Jesus teaches the necessity of binding the “strong man” (satan) in order to plunder his house and rescue people from his grip. (Matt 12:29). This is also why, after the disciples preached the gospel and rejoiced that the demons were even subject to them, Jesus declared, **“I saw satan fall like lightening from heaven.” **(Luke 10:18). Nevertheless, during this period, the world will not be entirely Christianized because satan, though bound, is still in some sense able to prowl around and attack souls. (1 Peter 5:8).

Some of the ECF who believed this were Eusebius, Victorinus, St Jerome, and Justine Martyr. Ultimately, the key issue is not what certain writers of the early Church believed, but that the bishops of the early Church embraced amillenialism. They rejected premillenialism and postmillenialism.

🙂 Dear Ryon, What do you mean by Convential Transition ? and When Jesus talked about the temple was not he refering to his body? Couldn’t he have also meant in Matthew the generation in the latter day’s? If the first resurection already happened,or Christ has done his thousand years of ruleing, since the time he was on earth. It’s been 2000 years since wouldn’t that put his thousand years a little late?If he was to rule only a thousand years, wouldn’t he be back already? You say the Saints are on there thrones are you pertaining to all the Saints that ever lived? How did they get resurected, and I thought his kingdom was going to be on earth? So if your right then your waiting for the second resurection and I dont want to be in the second resurection! that’s not good. I dont think the first resurection has happened yet. love of Christ Nancy:)

:o Yes. Go to search at googles and type in Democrats,Health Care “Reform”. And your “Duty To Die”
Good Luck Nancy:rolleyes:
thanks Nancy … I found an article or two about it … doesn’t seem to be written in stone though, huh? … at least it seemed that way … I was pretty aggitated when I skimmed it though … would love to hear other opinions regarding this …

🙂 Dear Ryon, What do you mean by Convential Transition ?
Although the Old Covenant had become obsolete in light of the New, the world didn’t know it until the Temple was destroyed. They continued to offer sacrifice even though Christ’s sacrifice had superceded it.
and When Jesus talked about the temple was not he refering to his body?
He was in John 2:21, but in Mat 24 and Luke 21 He is talking about the Jerusalem Temple.
Couldn’t he have also meant in Matthew the generation in the latter day’s?
No! He was talking to his disciple and He said “this” generation. A generation equals fourty years.
If the first resurection already happened,or Christ has done his thousand years of ruleing, since the time he was on earth. It’s been 2000 years since wouldn’t that put his thousand years a little late?If he was to rule only a thousand years, wouldn’t he be back already?
1,000 is not a literal thousand. It is a very large number. 10 (completion) x 10 x 10= 1,000
You say the Saints are on there thrones are you pertaining to all the Saints that ever lived?
No.
How did they get resurected, and I thought his kingdom was going to be on earth?
The first resurrection happens when we dye, are judged, and enter into heaven.

Christ said His Kingdom is not of this world. (John 18:36) Only a handfull of Christians believed in an earthly reign of Christ up until 100 years ago.
So if your right then your waiting for the second resurection and I dont want to be in the second resurection! that’s not good. I dont think the first resurection has happened yet. love of Christ Nancy:)
No, I’m still waiting for my own first resurrection, because I haven’t died yet. When Christ rose from the dead the righteous souls in Sheol were resurrected and went to heaven. And when we die we experience the first resurrection if we are bound for heaven.

As for the dead being raised, have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God told him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, (the) God of Isaac, and (the) God of Jacob’? He is not God of the dead but of the living. You are greatly misled." (Mark 12:26-27)

Besides, what is wrong with the second resurrection? It means Jesus has returned.

Peace 🙂

🙂 The purpose of this post is to get some opinions on the last day’s.There are alot of books out there on the last day’s And scripture plainly tells us that satan will delude the world at the time of the end.And the apostle Paul specifically says God himself will send a "deluding influence"on the world for the purpose of exposing those who have no love of the Truth:
If you already believe Satan’s lie, then you are lost and are in need of help, and in need of God’s merciful intervention along with the ability to cooperate with whatever grace He sends you to get you out of your hopeless situation.
