What is appropriate clothing to wear at Mass if you're a female?

Have you ever had a family member sick in the hospital? People don’t choose when to get sick. Somebody needs to take care of them. I’m in exactly the right career because it allows me to take care of the sick and vulnerable. Things Jesus approves of.

Thank you for being a nurse 🤩 You guys are my heroes.

I served college students at a dining hall when I had to work Sundays (I worked my other job Saturdays). Since it was a “forced” meal plan the students had to eat there. So much less glamorous than helping to save lives.
 
It is slavery to work 12.5 hours on a Sunday.
Or any other day, for that matter. 8 hours is sufficient.

I’m guessing you don’t understand anything about healthcare or critical nursing support. 12 hours (with a 30 minute lunch) is done for a reason. Every time a nurse hands paperwork to someone else, the error rate spikes. With 2 shifts, rather than 3 a day, this reduces the chance of a fatal mistake by 30%
 
Better yet, just have 1 24 hour shift. That will reduce the chance of a fatal mistake by 60%.

Nurses tire, and actually, that’s being “on call” which specialists sometimes are required to do. After years of study hospitals figured out that 12 hours, while long, is the best way to prevent clerical error and avoid fatigue errors.

If you’d like to debate how healthcare works, create a different thread.

Besides, she’s probably married. Why work?

I am 19, it is true.
 
I ask that you refrain from making assumptions about me, such as my marital status. I happen to be married, and my paycheck as a nurse supported my husband as he finished college. He is now a nurse as well. Are you as concerned about him working these hours? If not, that is a double standard.

I’m finished with this thread. I know my heart and I am confident that God is pleased with the work I do.

Did you just insinuate that a married woman isn’t to work?

WHAT?

I worked until I had children. I still freelance write (about 20 hours a week).

Overall, “3-12’s” as they are often known are MUCH less stressful than 5 days of working 8-10 hours…because lets face it, in today’s economy working 8 hours, 5 days a week is fairly uncommon. Working 8 hours pretty much “kills” the day anyway.

Women who stay home have plenty of free time for hobbies, and even a home business.

The point is that, when women forfeited their Thrones, as Queens of the Home, things went bad and caused women much stress they don’t deserve.

I do not have a hobby. I have a freelance JOB. I have real-life clients and deadlines. It’s not a “home business”. It’s a job.

Women can and do, work for a number of reasons. When I did not have children there was no reason for me to spend my days at home…none. There was nothing of value that I could have done. Even with children, my family needs my income. Many women are in situations where their husband doesn’t make enough–or they gasp LIKE working outside the home. Dads can stay at home and mind children, too.

My house doesn’t need caring for. At. All. I have a modern dishwasher, a microwave, an electric range and stove, a refrigerator, washer, and dryer. Work does not do itself, but chores, even with children, take less than an hour a day. My husband, a real man, will often unload the dishwasher or play with the baby after he has worked a hard day. We chat about what we both did that day.

But you seem to want to live in the 1950’s where he should come home, put his feet up and not be bothered by such unworthy things like children and dishes.

You know, there’s nothing wrong with women staying home and taking care of the kids while the men go and work, and come home, eat dinner, and play with the family.
