Hi nancy,
God bless you my dear. 🙂
Rev. is a book that requires some study. I know you will agree.
About your question, The message is given to the seven churches of Asia Minor.Chap.2:1 -3:22
John received a vision from Jesus Christ. John recorded them for the benefit of these churches and for Christians throughout history.
Have you done some study in this area?

God bless,

:)Hi Jean, Yes I have done some study on the book but proberly not in the fashion of the same belief as you. I did a Daniel and Revelations seminar with one of my sons quite a few years ago but I also learned some in the Baptist faith I had learned some years ago in the Catholic church but I was to young to remember what I learned. I still know most of the Catholic prayers and I have a Catechism Book if I ever get to it. I run a food pantry and do charity work and have been so busy but I am going to stop for all of next week I hope, then I will be able to study some. Did you know Daniel has alot in it about REV.? Or do you believe most has happened? Love of Christ Nancy God Bless:)

I will reiterate: The best book on Revelation is Scott Hahn’s “The Lamb’s Supper” then the whole picture will be seen in the Mass thru Scripture. It is AWESOME.
End of discussion.

As the visions during the night continued, I saw One like a son of man coming, on the clouds of heaven; When he reached the Ancient One and was presented before him, He received dominion, glory, and kingship; nations and peoples of every language serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not be taken away, his kingship shall not be destroyed. (Dan 7:13-14)

This happened when Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven. The “Ancient of Days” is God the Father. The “Son of man” is Jesus. This is what Jesus refered to during His trial before the Sanhedrin.

Jesus said to him in reply, “You have said so. But I tell you: From now on you will see ‘the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power’ and ‘coming on the clouds of heaven.’” (Mat 26:64)

The “Son of man” comes to the “Ancient of Days” and is presented before Him. This is when the Son is traveling to the Father in Heaven for the ceremonial bestowal of His Kingdom. This does not describe the coming of the Son of man back to earth at all! Rather, this prophecy describes the time when Jesus is recognized as the victor over sin because of the Cross.

But Jesus extended Daniel’s event in Heaven to include another earthly event the the Sanhedrin could witness. Since the Sanhedrin did not view Christ’s Ascension, He must have been refering to another event they would “see”. In other words the event happened in their lifetime, and they have been dead for thousands of years.

So what could it be? In the Old Testament “coming on the clouds” is coming and victory, and most of all, in judgement. God was “riding on a swift cloud to Egypt” in (Isa 19:1-2). His judgment of the false idols was fulfilled in (Isa 20:1-6). Did he show up physically? No! God’s judgment came in the form of the Assyrian army’s killing, pillaging, and conquering the Egyptians. Do you see where I’m going with this?

The only one event that occurred during the generation of the Sanhedrin, that would show them that the Christ was their Judge, was the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple in 70 A.D. - instigated by Nero (the little horn) and the Roman army. It was a public judgment that clearly proved to all mankind that Jesus was the victor in Heaven over His enemies on earth. No other event created the instantaneous, worldwide publicity necessary to illustrate to the Sanhedrin that Christ was seated at the right hand of the Father. Just as God judged Egypt with the Assyrian army, Christ judged Jerusalem with the Roman army.

I am NOT saying this is the second coming of Christ. This verse is connected to the first advent of Jesus. Daniel was looking forward to the Messiah’s arrival not past it.

I would like to hear a few opinions on what the verse to go back to your first love is ment? Thank You Nancy
Take the next Church from Smyrna for example.

"To the angel of the church in Smyrna, write this: " 'The first and the last, who once died but came to life, says this: "I know your tribulation and poverty, but you are rich. I know the slander of those who claim to be Jews and are not, but rather are members of the assembly of Satan. Do not be afraid of anything that you are going to suffer. Indeed, the devil will throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will face an ordeal for ten days. Remain faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. " ‘“Whoever has ears ought to hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The victor shall not be harmed by the second death.”’ (Rev 2:8-11)

When was the last time Christians suffered tribulation, poverty, testing and imprisonment at the hands of the Jewish leadership? Between Christ’s persecution and the destruction of the Temple. This was originally written for first century Christians. That doesn’t mean that we moderners cannot draw from these verses.

True, but the passage also speaks of believers being imprisoned at the hands of Satan and this certainly does happen today. In fact it wouldn’t surprise me if it starts happening in the USA.

Yes in a sense. Fortunately, Christ warns them that they will have a short “ten day” time of trial (refecting the trial of Daniel at the beginning of his captivity. Daniel 1 After which the king granted him a role in ruling.)

They have become less fervent in their worship. They are called to go back to how they were when they first heard the Word.
The cares of this world choke The Word and make it unfruitful.

These were enduring hardships and that was the test for that Church peoples.

Now, we see the assylumed ‘rich’ peoples Church or city on a hill called the Church of the Laodicea (law of two or crown) which is the completion Church in the preMillennial events.
