A couple of parishes nearby are hosting Divine Mercy Sunday. Is this a special Mass? or is it something extra which occurs afterwards?
There is a special plenary indulgence given by the Lord on Divine Mercy Sunday along with special graces. An act of mercy during lent, confession, veneration of the image of Divine Mercy and the Eucharist on Divine Mercy Sunday is what is needed for this. This one is special because the floodgates of mercy will be open on that day. I was told by my Priest that confession 20 days prior or after is ok for the indulgence. I’m not sure about the special graces and the time of confession though. If someone has read St. Faustina’s diary and knows when she went to confession for this, would you let us know? Thanks, TimAlso, there is an indulgence granted for Divine Mercy Sunday, but I’m not sure of the details.
She went on the Saturday, and Jesus ok’d it, I think the requirement is to go-to Confession 8 days before or 8 days after Low Sunday. If someone has read St. Faustina’s diary and knows when she went to confession for this, would you let us know? Thanks, Tim
Well an up-date, went to the Divine Mercy Celebration tonight at 6pm, went on to 8/15.She went on the Saturday, and Jesus ok’d it, I think the requirement is to go-to Confession 8 days before or 8 days after Low Sunday.
Thanks, that’ll do, although I couldn’t find it on the Vatican site, no time right now, that site is extensive. The indulgence is 20 days before or after. ewtn.com/devotionals/mercy/summary.htm
